Not sure a loan will be ideal in Jan though with ACN and possibly Hojbjerg looking to leave. Need to monitor Bentancur too. Definitely a possibility for next season. See how he goes for the rest of this season. He's still very young and not everyone will get this system straight away.
Aren’t we pretty fked from club trained players for Europe though? That’s my worry by selling skipp. I agree he’s not good enough and would sell him for 20m.
We need to be ruthless and buy players who suit our system. He doesn’t fit the 6 or 8 mould. We need a strong squad.
Hojberg and skipp out, a 6 in the biss mould would leave us pretty strong imo.
We’d have biss, new 6
Benta and sarr 8,
Madds and gio 10. Then the decision is on selling Gio and moving Kulu to 10 to rotate.
Say we get 60-70m for those 3 sales and spend big on a RW (Neto) and a press resistant quality young foreign 6 to rotate with biss.

I struggle to see what he brings to plate other than he's home grown and probably an excellent trainer. We need to be ruthless to be successful and sentiment should play no part in holding onto players who we hope may make it. He's not at or unlikely to be at the level we need. There must be better prospects coming through the academies.

His 23, thats not very young for a footballer, Sarr is two years younger; he can no longer be considered or treated like a youngster
The point is he's still young enough to improve and he's playing with a coach who will improve players. So I'm just pointing out age because there is room for improvement.

never saw him as the future star many people here saw. he's useful off the bench to plug a hole, but wont get much time when everyone is fit.

We currently have only 3 club trained players registered, Skipp, Whiteman and Austin. Surely we can register Scarlett and Parrott next season for European competition if we have, but that's not ideal neither since they are also not good enough

I do feel that Skippy is not back to the level he was at before he got that injury. A year of footballer is a big miss for a developing player. He really needs games to see if he can get his form back. I think a loan would suit all parties.

Quite possibly but I really think he was fine last night. But you can’t play a midfield of him and Hojbjerg together it just won’t work. You can get away with one of them in there but not the two of them at the same time.

he gets a lot of good will because his a academy lad, and seems like a nice guy, and people went way ott with the hype for him, calls of future Spurs and England captain, but his simply not good enough for a team with top 4 ambitions, no shame in that 99% of footballers are not, sure he will still have a decent career at a Fulham or Bournemouth

surly we could register Dorrington and Donnelly, and Devine

let’s add Dane as well:)

This 100%.

It just isn't fluid enough as we saw last season. And last night for a time but they were both still fine to me last night.

I think Skipp is a good squad player and has ebough ability to do a job when called upon. If it was Bissouma/Skipp/PEH alongside Bentancur/Sarr that would be fine with me and could see it working. The key will be Bentancur slotting back into the middle and how well he does. Will have a hard time displacing Pape at the moment though.

Albeit not a youngster anymore, look at Man C… they’ve brought in millions by selling their youngsters who have either not kicked an EPL ball or have been out on loan for multiple seasons. Skipp will bring in a reasonable fee… we just need another HG addition within the squad albeit this doesn’t need to be a direct replacement for Skipp.

He made a fantastic challenge when tracking back but more often than not he commits a foul instead and picks up a stupid yellow card. A pressing team requires ‘athletes’ and that’s something both Hojbjerg and Skipp will never be.

Good for him to get some minutes. He wasnt awful, but he wasnt good either. Got a feeling he isnt good enough to compete in this team.

His not to blame for today, but just don't get him, everyone else were battling like warrior and it seemed he was just lightly jogging about with no intensity what so ever

Think I’d be a headless chicken chasing 2/3 men every time. Pretty sure that was his job tonight. He’s the 5 choice CM what do people really think we’re gonna get from that? Who are we signing better that will be happy with a few minutes here and there.

There must be better options from the academy who can come into match day squad in his place. I’m surprised Devine left for a loan with a league one outfit.

Same old faces in here slagging off one of our own. What did people expect playing with 9 men?

I also seem to remember him making a lung bursting goal saving intervention at one point while it was still 1-1.
