Would not be adverse to trying him as RWB tonight if im honest strong powerful and fast only struggles really when we ask him to be creative.

He's clumsy when dribbling but I remember he came on against palace as a defensive RW and he was great
I've said for months, to occasionally great criticism, that Sissoko's only potential use is as a DM. Because he has shown that he can tackle and basically work as a destroyer/interceptor. The big problem is the squad is already saturated with DM/CM options that are far superior to him. Rather than trying to squeeze him into a role he might almost handle, we should just sell him and sign players already fit for purpose.

Totally agree - Hes obviously brilliant at spotting/nurturing emerging talent and bringing academy grads through but if Sissoko was the first attempt at integrating an established/mature player into the mix then frankly, it hasnt worked.
Wanyama, Alderweireld, Son were all established. Sissoko was just poor scouting all round from the club and I think Poch really wanted Mane and Wijnaldum. Both said they spoke to the club and turned down wages.

He is so poor on the ball he would be a liability there. Only use for him is holding the ball up in the corner after 90 mins.

Well, exactly right. We have far superior CM/DM options with a wider set of abilities. There are easily 3 or 4 ahead of him. But if you wanted to field purely a destroyer, who's only task would be to kick the ball away from the midfield when the opposition is in possession, he'd be your man.

I don't think he has the in game intelligence to do that job. You need a lot of concentration to play in that position and read what is going on. Its easy to clutch at straws and put someone there on physicality but he is really just a poor footballer.

No doubt about that. Sissoko is my least favourite Pochettino signing.

You need to be able to get the ball under control in a couple of seconds max to play DM. Sissoko normally takes about minutes to do it. Might work at RWB though.

So, to be clear, I'm not suggesting that Sissoko should be an actual, preferred choice. I'm merely pointing out, in agreement, that the only ability he has shown in Spurs shirt to any type of tangible degree, is a form of a defensiveness. However, the expectations to a RWB would be light years ahead of Sissoko's best moments.

Levy should maximize Sissoko's destroyer qualities by using him as a human wrecking ball in the demolition work on the old stadium. :cautious:

I think he'd do us a load more damage in CM than he would at RWB. Maybe we should try him in goal.
