I quite like the description Jack Pitt-Brooke used on the Tifo football Spurs podcast this week. He said that he’d heard the feeling in the club was that Lucas was a really talented player, but he’s a bit of a slow learner, and doesn’t take or follow instructions well. A bit of an off the cuff player, really.

Do you mean all our horrible footie by 90% of our players was planned??????

It's definitely a bit true. Not sure if he is fast enough for a winger or had the vision of a playmaker or is a true marksman. But is talented

Now we do have other players that are none of those But are not talented. No names.

He reminds me of Defoe, in the sense with Jermain that no matter what the manager or system was he was playing in, you got the feeling he said to himself, “I’m gonna play the way I did at Senrab and at all times look to shift it and shoot no matter the situation.”

I love Lucas but I do think hes struggling to find a role.
He's a great little footballer but doesn't quite seem to have a position, imo.
He's not really a winger, or a striker, or a 10, etc.
I think that's going to be the biggest hurdle in his career, and why he's not quite made it at the highest level or managed to nail down a place with us.
His lack of defined role was why he was replaced by Kane for the final.
He really is a very odd player when you think about it.

- Tiny but leaps like an NBA salmon.
- Lightning quick but doesn't look comfortable playing out wide.
- Simultaneously looks both 25 and 45 years old.
- Believes in God despite choosing to play for Spurs.

To be fair, Defoe made a fantastic career out of that, and was very effective. Moura blows hot and cold.

They are different players, but I mean more in the sense that Defoe had a way of playing and didn’t want to or couldn’t really change or evolve as a player. He just was what he was, and Lucas is what he is, whereas with the best players, they’re more pliable, especially with a coach like Poch.

To me both Moura and Son blow hot and cold both are deadly on form however I feel their levels ain’t consistent.

You’d like to think we could play Moura Kane Son in a 3 in certain games without them all fighting for same central position.

The problem is our style of play. If they both played for Liverpool, they'd be more consistent because of the style of play.

Can't see that. Defoe was a great goalscorer. A marksman.
Moura hasn't found his spot but he has ball talent.
We have to get more of a flow. You can only do it with players that can control a ball and pass it. He needs to expand his game to helping create by finding chemistry with others not simply dribbling or running at players
Moura can do this physically but does he have the brain?
I understand what you mean re their thinking.
But I wouldn't consider them similar.
Most players are soldiers, they are limited to do a job. Some players can expand their game by a little, some a lot.
We need to push it to the limit.

Both super subs

Lamela this season looks better but Dele needs also to kick it up a notch.By now with the promise he has shown earlier in his first seasons he should be doing a lot better than he is, I mean making a huge impact. I do think Poch keeps them in for their defensive work as much as their attacking (they have been good defensively) but to me Lamela,Dele,Moura and Son all are about the same when it comes to impact for our team. Basically they could do a lot better. Our problems with lots of possession and little attacks on goal should be solved with these players. I really don't know if its Pochs system that doesn't move the ball quicker or the players not being at their best. They all have good games here and there. None of them can you count on

A bit harsh on Dele Alli his been injured going into the World Cup and throughout last season and was played deeper due to other injuries.

For me Alli is phenomenal player his stats are freakishly insane there’s no player like him in the league imo, people get pissed with him for trying outrageous things and jump on him when they don’t come off but most of the time they do. We have missed Alli , Kane especially.

I don't think it's attempting the outrageous that annoys people, for me it's when he slowly dribbles the ball to nowhere and then gets tackled, it's always so obvious when it's about to happen.

And he always does it while slowly getting double teamed and always tries to split them. Never works.

I'd like Dele to become the superstar that he has the talent to become
Either Poch plays him too conservatively or he is not on enough.
He is good defensively and he has shown how great he can be attacking wise.
OK this year is he fit? If so then show the best he can be for more than highlite reels, I'm in

At the risk of this not being the correct thread, replying to the above posts, Dele needs a season fit and playing where he plays best, just off the main striker. Then we’ll see him at his best with his runs in to the box.

Problem being, Moura is fit, and also likes playing there.

Not such a problem, Dele will always be first choice of Lucas as long as Kane is at the club.

So why can't Moura be up there with Dele to give Kane a break

Our problem has always been supply in any case
