To be fair, he wasn't awful against Liverpool
He was lucky that Liverpool were awful to be honest.

So when Trippier’s bad it’s his fault and when he’s less bad/average it’s the other team’s fault? He was lucky that Liverpool were awful to be honest.

Dani Alves being linked to us in the press too. Would make sense

I actually think Serge can be an upgrade - I'm really not sure we've seen enough of him yet to write him off the way many seem to have done.Pretty much. Our fans will pick their favourites and their scapegoats. If the scapegoat isn't spectacular then they are shit. Forget he is an england international and better than 90% of the right backs we've had in the last 30 years. He is now classed as shit. And our fans will want him replaced by a guy they saw a 3min clip on youtube of.
If we can upgrade fine but he is a decent player that suffered a bit last year as did many of our players.

Personally, I'm more concerned about Serge's fitness than that of his equine friend.Agreed. Needs to keep his ass uninjured though

This is very true, and a lot of people do make scapegoats. However Trippier just doesn't fit our system, and so will always be open to criticism as our play tends to break down with him at fullback in a back 4.
Last year he was also a liability defensively, as he was more exposed in a back four, rather than having another CB to cover him when he gets caught out of position.
Personally I quite like him and think he has a great delivery from out wide, but he will always be open to criticism from many as he simply just doesn't fit into our teams system.
Both Serge and KWP have the recovery pace and drive at players from wide which is much more suited to our needs from the fullbacks.
He was massively out of his depth last season- his marking and general defensive play was akin to some of our comical defending from the late 90sDon't beat around the bush. Trips was fucking woeful last season.
He may have been carrying injuries, he may have had a lack of protection at RB. But he moped around with a face like a smacked arse - he looked mentally distraught.
That said he's not a bad footballer at all. He simply doesn't fit the way we play and considering his age and resale value it would be best to let him go.
I swear his agent is throwing this info out there. I’m struggling so many big European teams are in for player nearing his 30s with such obvious flaws.
It always shocks me how few caps Ramsey has for England, prolific midfielder who can play across the attacking positions, you'd expect him to be a shoe in, must be something fishy behind the scenes...I think if it was a choice between Juventus and Villa/Palace then he'd probably move to Italy and play with Ronaldo and co. Ramsey has just gone there as well so he wouldn't be the only English player in the squad which would make it a lot easier for him.
It might be because he's Welsh? It always shocks me how few caps Ramsey has for England, prolific midfielder who can play across the attacking positions, you'd expect him to be a shoe in, must be something fishy behind the scenes...
