I’m just staggered that so many people on here know so much more about goalkeepers, goalkeeping and sports psychology than the professional coaches, managers, advisors and management team running THFC.

One can only imagine the incredible contribution they are making in their day jobs and lament their loss to the professional game.
Yeah agree, it’s the position I played, whilst never got anywhere near pro level, I did play conference.
My son is also a keeper so I’ve watched him train with pro coaches for the last 4 years and analysed his games with him and coaches.
Ridiculous the levels needed tbh

I can't believe anyone could have lived through the Ian Walker days and resort to such nonsense and hyperbole that gets said about Gazzaniga. He really is the latest evolution of the Trippier/Sissoko scapegoating.

Goalkeeping is like the opposite end of the pitch and is very much a confidence game. City made Hart (their own product) feel like a dead weight and shoved him off everywhere, so the decline is plausible.

If Jose wants him though, he obviously must see that he's good enough for the job.

Surely that's the point? If our scouts/manager think he is good enough and the right sort of player having seen all the rest that means he is the right signing? There clearly aren't any obvious alternatives.
Yes it means that they think he's right. But this is a football forum and I'm giving my opinion

1. I am mystified based on what I have seen of him in actual games

2. I really think it's his mentality that is the problem, not his forte. He was and is obviously talented

Just because I can't think of an alternative, perhaps almost unknown keeper off the top of my head doesn't change that

We're actually being sensible under Mourinho with our backup keepers, bringing in Hart for free is much smarter then buying Southampton's reserve keeper, or bringing in Pau Lopez on loan.

And look at the calibre of third choice keeper the other "big" clubs have, I'd much rather Hart over Lee Grant or Scott Carson.

Oh dear well in which case we should probably shut down Spurs Community in case anybody disagrees with the club

It's ok though. We can all pass the time by going to bbc.co.uk and agree with how great Brexit or the Covid pandemic response is

Silly me

Do feel like if you’re arguing that someone isn’t good enough then you should be able to name at least one player that meets the standard you would like. Just my opinion anyway.
Can you explain why ?

To take a very sad but clear example: The cladding on the Grenfell tower was obviously ridiculously flammable and lethal. Do you agree ? Yes because your saw it burning like crazy on TV. Can you recommend one that's safe ? No (I obviously assume). Neither can I. Why would we ? It's not our job. But you can judge what you see with your own eyes

A bit different because you've posted 4000 times on a football forum, whereas I assume you haven't on CladdingCommunity.

Hugo is supposed to be a leader and I agree that he is, regardless of how vocal he is or isn’t on the pitch. The thing that can change games is having someone who will say it how it is in the changing room at half time. For me Vorm and Gazza will not call players out and try to be mates with everyone first. Hart won’t be afraid to russle a few feathers.

Personally I see Hart being a leader in the dressing room and being a model professional on and off the pitch. He offers more than just being a HG option and I would assume he’ll be starting his coaching badges in no time and with our record or giving young coaches a chance, we’re a great fit for him.
You’ve done well there - you’ve managed to get a Spam rating for talking about Joe Hart, in a thread about Joe Hart.

But somebody could say exactly the same there. That you're only allowed to comment if you're an expert in the particular field. I'm which case probably best not to ask a question on an open global forum ! (y)

Because our hobby isn’t architectural safety hazards? If you’re one of those fans who just concerns themselves with Spurs and doesn’t pay much attention to players outside of our bubble that’s fine. But when the conversation is

“He’s not good enough”
“Who do you want instead then?”
“I dunno”

it’s not much of a discussion. And thereby your point loses validation.
