Amazing how no ITK heard of this

PEH aside, all of our signings under Jose have been kept quiet until they’ve been relatively complete or it reached the mainstream media outlets e.g. Bergwijn, Gedson.

I do understand the thinking re the home quota thing, but as I’ve always really disliked Joe Hart, coupled with the fact he’s been turd for the last few years it’s a no from me.
Oh well, that’s that then.

I reckon there's more smarmy posts complaining about fellow SC members not being onboard with this transfer than there are posts with SC Members not being onboard with this transfers.
Some posters on here could do Masterclasses in self righteousness. Still, let's all big it up for the keeper who wasn't good enough for West Ham or Burnley, eh?

But it's unlikely he will even play for us, so no issue there.

Yes I realise that in principle to get a HG, experienced, leader type as third choice so the youngsters can go and get tome football is a good idea but honestly he has been pretty awful for a while.

Hart wage policy..... Levy throws notes at him and he gets to keep the ones he doesn't drop... Bargain!!..

Does he also lock him in a Crystal shaped dome whilst doing it?

He had a bad time at West Ham but so do 99% of players that go through that ridiculous club. At Burnley he was only ever brought to be back up to Pope. I know context gets in the way of a good old fashioned SC witch-hunt (before he’s even signed no less), but without it your comment is at best disingenuous, especially when considering that this guy is coming to be 3rd choice.

I am a bit mystified by this to be honest. Everybody seems to think it's fine because he's only going to be 3rd/second choice at best and he's HG.

But I think if we added a vote on this about how you'd feel seeing Hart on the teamsheet I think 'terrified' would come out top. It's absolutely pointless him being HG if you actually hope that you never have to play him.

The other weird thing is everybody praising his mentality. Whilst he might be fun around the dressing room, I'd say quite the opposite. Being a top class keeper involves a huge amount of concentration, focus and confidence. It's a bit like golf, tennis, snooker. Hart, EdG and others haven't suddenly lost all of their talent or become unfit or particularly less agile. They've had a couple of howlers, let doubts creep in and let it slowly drag them down over months or years. David James was another. This is the opposite of the mentality you need unfortunately...

It's very sad for them all personally but that's sport for you

I’d be no less terrified if I saw Gazzaniga or Vorm on the team sheet. They are absolutely dreadful and frankly no better than Joe Hart.

What's your alternative suggestion for a quality, super confident 3rd choice goalkeeper?

I recommend having a browse through the 3rd choice keepers at the clubs we'll be competing against for top honours this season. It's hardly a gallery of excellence.

I haven’t seen a player as poor for us in quality as Gazzinga since the dark times of the late 90s. He is awful. Hart fills me with more confidence than he does, and I back the manager to get the best out of him
