Struggling to see how any RB comes in and performs better than Japhet today!

Obviously I know it's about consistency over a number of games but I can barely recall a poor performance from him.

City have got away with tactical fouling constantly under Pep. Fernandinho is the absolute bastard king of it!

Sterling can shut his whore mouth - bunch of hypocrites.

TAKE A BOW MY SON !!!! Immense today , he showed his effort, desire and determination to prove himself and up his level and make sure he gets picked again (everything Doherty isnt)

His hunger, passion and focus was unrivalled!!!!

But completely agree he a prick and gets away with murder and has done for years, Refs allows him so much that others would be reprimanded and carded for.

Brilliant! His beast mode performance from the start set us up for this win today. He set the example early doors

His best performance of the season!
I think consideration has to be given to keeping him or giving him another go before shipping him out on loan. I also feel him staying is a win for meritocracy and possibly offers the younger fans a different person than Kane to look upto

It's also been his only performance of the season to be fair

I really hope those injury problems of the last 18 months are behind him now. Too many times we’ve had impressive youngsters held back because of injuries picked up at a young age.

You can see why players his age are a cut above his peers. They have that extra bit of aggression in their games. People like him and skipp have that edge. I think it’s a really important aspect of their game and can help elevate them above older players who may have too many games in their legs. A great performance yesterday. Really happy for him.

That is the player that burst on to the scene a couple of years ago. Such a talent. I've always preferred him at right back because he gets to use his aggression, pace and physicality more. He's the kind of fullback that wingers hate. He's all over you like a rash, your touch has to be perfect or he'll be on it. If you do somehow manage to get him squared up he's also quick enough to get across the ball if you try to knock it past him. Then you've got to deal with his raw strength. The lad is a beast.

He doesn't yet have Aurier's experience but for me he's the best right back at the club.

Given his history with injuries, his age and lack of consistent games thus far, it would be unfair to expect him to be our regular right-back.

Hopefully further conditioning (apparently Nuno has him on a specific programme) and steadily increasing his minutes will see him become our first choice no2 towards the end of this season.
