IF true, not good for England but good for THFC. He should be fit and rested for next season. ?

It’s awful news but much as I’d been reading on the injury. Very hard to believe he will be same player and he will need to share work load 60/40 from now. We need an Aguero Jesus situation and Kane will just have to accept it or his career could be over by 30.

This article is not what all the other opinion has said- you can imagine the journalists ringing up every surgeon until they find one who is prepared to say 6 months would be safer, which is not really that controversial. I'd like to see Harry in the Euros.

I hate this kind of article.

Yes the bloke is a specialist in the operation Kane had, but unless he performed the op on Kane himself or has accessed Kane’s medical records, then it’s just speculation, informed speculation but speculation non the less.

Exactly what I thought when I saw it.

It’s a fair concern

seems to have been brushed off but if he loses half a yard as a result of this injury he may struggle to be anywhere near as effective as he was

It’s true this doctor doesn’t know the ins and outs. But having an operation on a hamstring is incredibly serious.

Every time Kane gets hurts the rags manage to drudge up some expert who’ll give a worst case scenario. Never turns out to be anywhere near the mark.

This is really sad news. Cannot believe he managed to damage it so badly from just running in behind on a set piece. How unlucky can he get?

Six months but then you have the post-op training. I'm no doctor but I reckon he's not back before xmas.

He’d be back before then if all ok. But remember Toby took ages and he didn’t even have the operation was a good 5 months before was playing regularly.

I had concerns and doubts about the original timescales given and sadly this seems to be the case.

I think they have all but confirmed my fears that it was a complete rupture and the surgery entailed re attaching the muscle to the bone. Thats why his leg is in a leg brace as you don't want to disturb the attachment and thats why the article above said you can't do any rehab for the first few weeks. Thats unlike most injuries where you usually start rehab as soon as the swelling and pain goes down.

I still maintain id be amazed if he is back before 6 months.

Also i share the same concerns about re rupture that the article states. When you think about the load that goes through the hamstring and consider it has been re attached unnaturally then i do think there is a high risk of doing it again. Surely the club and player won't rush themselves this time as the potential risks are just too great.

Someone above mentioned that this was an isolated opinion. Id be interested to see these other articles as i haven't seen anything to suggest otherwise.

Here's an interview by Michael Owen which i stupidly said looked nothing like his injury at the time. He talks about the muscle detaching from the bone and like my quad rupture fused itself onto another muscle. Amazingly he didn't receive surgery, so that is the most reassuring part as he was able to carry on. Which means Kane has an even better chance. Its just it means he will have to take the recovery very carefully. This injury cannot be rushed back regardless of his usual recovery ability.

If we had any real ambition we should go all out for Timo Werner in the summer. We might get outbid, but we should give it a real go.

Even if Harry is back fit and firing for the start of next season he won’t be around forever and this is a pretty serious injury ( along with all the successive ankle injuries). Plus Werner can play elsewhere along the front line.

Will shut up all those fans (idiots) who don’t rate him too when we miss his goals in the tournament, he virtually guarantees a goal a game. Obviously I’d love England to win the euros though.
