Sarr covers so much ground so I would keep him as an 8. Gio just needs to keep the ball moving.I was thinking Sarr at 6 for Everton with Gio at 8, Kulu at 10.
But youre right, Gio could be a better fit for the 6 role.

I'm not advocating selling him in Jan, just saying that if we get a half decent offer for any fringe player (and he's certainly that), then we have to seriously consider it.How is selling Lo Celso in January, at the expense of CL qualification, going to put us in a better position for next season?
Finishing in a CL spot would help us to attract a higher calibre of player next summer, which would leave us stronger for next season compared to not qualifying for CL. It would also boost our revenue for the 24-25 season by more than Lo Celso's transfer value + wages combined, so qualifying for the CL and having Lo Celso (or any other one player) rotting in the reserves would be better than selling him in January and missing out on CL.
This is even ignoring that Lo Celso had played pretty well for us recently and has demonstrated that he fits our system.
When we have multiple absences (as we currently have / recently had, and will certainly have in Jan-Feb), any half-decent CM could be the difference. 1 point could be the difference between CL qualification or not. Lo Celso has just contributed 2 goals in his last 5 games. He would have been a much better option than Skipp when Johnson went off injured (had he not been injured himself).I'm not advocating selling him in Jan, just saying that if we get a half decent offer for any fringe player (and he's certainly that), then we have to seriously consider it.
It's not as simple as selling Lo Celso now will mean we miss our on top four, nowhere near that.
Do you honestly think that he's the player that will make the difference for us this season?
I'm kind of playing devil's advocate a bit here but I've spent the last four years reading so many people who don't think he's good enough for us, to now reading that he could be the reason we get CL football this season?!
I like Gio but I'm just not sure his future lies with us.
Also, the needing to have CL to get a better quality of player is just not true and there are so many examples of that.
How many top players did we sign when we were CL regulars?
Gio started life as a 6. He only moved to a 10 at betis. He was a 6 at psg so he could play it. As you say his skill is breaking the lines and being press resistant and keeping the ball moving so he could definitely play thereSarr covers so much ground so I would keep him as an 8. Gio just needs to keep the ball moving.
Wonder if he could play as a 6 in this system.
He always brings a sense of urgency in his playThought he did well today. Nice attacking and defensive moments from him. Just need him to stay healthy.
I don’t think it’s much of a conundrum tbh. Not that you suggested it but In general selling him in Jan is not an option, no club can afford him anyway and he knows + works in the system. We also aren’t in a position to be loosing CM’s who actually offer something. So we keep him and if he continues to impress and be an asset to the club then we extend his contract in the summer. If not we sell him then. I don’t think there is any other option tbh.Conundrum with him, do we
1. offer a new deal potentially blocking the route for Donley/Devine
2. Keep him and let his contract expire end of next season giving more time for those replacements to mature
3. Sell him in the summer when we can still get some money
I favour 2 but Levy will be about protecting the financials which makes 1 or 3 more likely
