There are probably about 10 players (in various positions) that I would get rid of before GLC and I don’t see why we need to sell him either.

GLC, Hojbjerg & Ndombele is the best midfield combo that we currently have. Any change for any one of them would be a drastic drop in quality.
Yeah - due to his injuries there's no denying that Lo Celso has been a disappointment, but when fit he was arguably our best player in the run in last season and I still believe he hasn't shown anywhere near his true potential in a Spurs shirt. He was electric at Betis and he's got a lot more in his locker than we've seen in recent weeks. I think we need to give him time and hopefully a fully fit Lo Celso will flourish under our next manager.

And even if he's not a world beater, he's still a really useful player to have: technically excellent, great at running with the ball, decent shot on him, can play multiple positions. I'd rather lose Lamela, Sissoko, Winks, or Bergwijn twice over before losing Lo Celso.

If he can't stay healthy that drop in quality will also happen. Next year we will have Skipp and hopefully Sabitzer too.

Yesterday he had a decent game, I understand that he is expected to contribute with goals and assists but he is a very supportive player that is always needed in a team. He occupies the spaces very well and makes 2 or 3 tackles per games that allow him to regain his position. This season for him he is lost, the only thing he has left is to keep playing to get rhythm of the game and next season he will be able to judge it .. I insist that he has to play as a CM.

I don’t think he has had a long history of fitness issues in the past though. We would need Skipp and possibly one more CM/AM to cover / rotate our midfielders next season. We can’t depend on only 3 quality midfielders as there would be issues with injuries, suspensions, fatigue, illness.

It’s very unlikely that we will sell off more than 5 players this summer and there are other players that need to be gone first - Sissoko, Winks, Dier, Doherty , Sanchez and possibly Toby, Moura.

There's been talk from certain players about how good he is and that he could have played for clubs like Real M. or Barca. But with his injury record since he arrived at Spurs I rather sell him for a good price and replace him with another top-class midfielder - unless he turns healthy again.
He's potentially a top-class midfielder but all those injuries keep setting him back more and more; so until now - after 2 seasons in the EPL - he's still not yet been able to get familiar with the EPL.

He's a good player. Some of our players aren't good. So on that basis I'd get rid of the bad ones before the good ones.

I think Gio’s problem was that he was meant to be the Eriksen type replacement, but Ndombele needs strength behind him as did Eriksen, so they kinda switched roles. That doesn’t really suit Gio either, we could probably do with a stronger deep lying playmaker next to Hojbjerg and Ndombele with a free role in midfield.

God awful tonight.. Injuries and all that aside we have seen nothing for 2 years to suggest he's worth the money we have spend on him.

Cannot agree with that. He was probably our best player at the business end of last season. His injuries have properly stopped him finding form. I believe he could be our best midfielder given an injury free run and finding sharpness. Was excellent at Betis.

I think some of the reason all our mids are criticised is in part down to how slowly they are given the ball by our defenders. You see them time and again moving into position, defender takes another touch, waits to make up their mind, then passes, often without enough pace and then the mids are swamped, lose the ball and get blamed. Not saying it's all the time but especially Gio and Tanguy would benefit from faster ball movement when they originally want it.

Far better in the second half than first, but fuck me he needs to cut the play-acting out of his game. 3 or 4 times he was rolling around today after being brushed off the ball.

Fantastic determination to nearly set Bale up for a second goal, though.

agree on the play acting, it really is cringe worthy and unnecessary.
