Our rivals seem to routinely pull players out of Internationals with questionable injuries, whereas we send them all out on duty and get a load of them back on crutches.

Exactly, its bad enough we get injuries without International interference! We have already had a bucket load of injuries this season & we are only 4 games in, same shit as least season

What's ridiculous is there's no agreement in place for countries who go deep into tournaments in the summer to waive the first round of international friendlies knowing the players missed a large chunk of their pre-seasons with their clubs.

Thing is, we have players who love playing for their countries so don't wanna miss out, other teams some players who are quite happy to miss out on internationals.

Why are people saying wait and see?

The journalist is DK isn't it? He's basically the Spurs mouthpiece.

It's fucking infuriating and of course completely typical of Spurs. I have no idea why he was allowed to travel to Argentina to play games when Poch isn't even starting him in league games for us yet as he isn't fit. It's just amateurish management.

If the guy isn't fit enough to start games for us, surely he should be kept back and told to train at Spurs until we feel he is fit.

All three of our signings are all injured and its the first week of september. Unbelievable.

Lo Celso hasn't ever had an injury in his playing career by the way

It's not a one sided affair where Spurs get to say to the international coaches that such and such player will not be showing up for international duty. I saw this firsthand when I interned at a couple MLS teams. If a player has been called up and wants to skip international duty due to injury, the physios at the club then send the international team physios the players tracked injury assessment and progression files. Additionally, the player then has to let the international team know that he is injured etc. and wont be able to link up with the team. Now if the player wants to skip the international fixtures to say better adjust to his new club, he would then simply reach out to his international team coaches and have a chat with them.

Dier in 2014.

"I spoke to Gareth Southgate and we were in complete agreement that it was the right thing to do," Dier told the club's official website."We had an open conversation and I think he was happy that I could be so honest with him. If he wasn't completely fine with this then I would never have asked because I would never want to put him in a difficult position."He has been fantastic with the whole situation and is really easy to talk to. I certainly would never want to give him or anyone else the wrong impression. "It is not a case that I don't want to play for England, that couldn't be further from the truth.

It seems our players really want to represent their countries.
