I've really wanted GLC, especially since I saw him vs Chile last month and believe he'd be a fantastic signing. However, I don't want our season depending on whether we make this signing or not, therefore we need to move on.

Tell Betis to do one (what if we agree on deadline day only for them to pull the plug again?)

Thanks Trix for your post in ITK. (i'm scared of posting anything in there these days.....) You would have to wonder about his state of mind (as well as his agent's) if this has agreed in principle for 30 days, he wants to come and they keep changing the terms. Can't imagine his value to Betis on the field has done anything but gone down. One would have to wonder if his agent and him do something very visible today or tomorrow to force the move.

IF we were to sign Fernandes as our 'needed anyway' signing, then he looks to be cheaper than originally thought, and cheaper than GLC.

But IF Eriksen could really be going to United then we'd be selling him for more than we thought we would abroad (fairly certain that'll be the case). So GLC latest price increase could theoretically be covered by Eriksens sale increase ?

Paying over the odds is never the best way to do business but theoretically we'd come out with about the same net spend should these transfers all happen (and clearly GLC transfer now rests on Eriksen going).

I'm surprised we've supposedly tried to stick at it this long - nine times out of ten we'd have moved on by now to players no one have heard of and wondering what the point is.

Fuck sake this is all very disheartening.

Worth noting that Dele has a hamstring injury now, question is, how desperate will Levy get ... whether that is for GLC or Bruno

Betis have the power in one sense as they know our window is shutting imminently. Having said that we may keep our poker face knowing they need the cash as per Hercules' information. This may drag and especially if other things in the deal have been agreed for a while if a settlement happens between the clubs happens the rest could be done rather rapidly.

I'm going to be extremely grown up about this until the window closes.

If we sign him, I'll be a happy bunny.

If we dont, I'm going full psycho bunny, rolling round on the floor, crying and screaming like a 6 year old girl, and calling anyone and everyone who I feel is responsible for this failure every name under the sun.

I know some say that players not kicking off and causing distress is a good trait in a player and we want those characters at the club but I have to say I disagree. We really need some of our targets to start to go AWOL to help strengthen our hand.

The likes of Ronaldo, Modric have all done it and no-one questions their commitment to succeed. In fact, I want players who are desperate to play for us.

Come on GLC, start to kick off.

Bahahahaha what? After all these months and we're paying close to the release clause anyway?

OK I think he's saying the transfer is imminent (his info) and the fee is 70m (according to Gazzetta.)

I think we have moved on hence the fernandes links.
Yeah, by the looks of things.

I'm going to the match day thread because I don't feel all that happy with the way this is all going.

I can't find the report they took this from yet.
They may be quoting the wrong source and it's actually from here:

https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futbol/betis/20190804/463853759194/tottenham-oferta-lo-celso.html

Tottenham must raise its offer for Lo Celso
  • The continuity of the Argentine midfielder in Betis should not be ruled out despite the signing of Fekir and the disbursement that still must make the Verdiblancos by the forward

After closing the transfer of Junior to FC Barcelona (for 18 + 7 + 5 million euros) and also having advanced negotiations for the departure of Camarasa -which are intended by Crystal Palace and Burnley, both of the Premier-, on the noble floor of the Benito Villamarín now focus attention on the possible march of Giovani Lo Celso , for whom Tottenham must raise his last offer significantly, otherwise the Argentine would remain one more season in the Verdiblanco team.

Although Real Betis has already signed Nabil Fekir - for 19.75 million euros and variables that will hardly reach 25 - and yet another important disbursement must be made to reinforce the lead, it should not be ruled out that finally the franc- Algerian share the core with the Argentine, although everything will depend on the will - and the millions - of Tottenham to take over Lo Celso.
The term of signings in the Premier ends on Thursday and these days will already be absolutely decisive to know the future of Lo Celso, unless Tottenham raises its offer and comes closer to the 75 million initially claimed by Betis, it is more near to stay than to leave, although there is still almost a month of transfer market - in Spain and other major leagues closes on September 2 - and many things can still happen.

In Betis they have already made accounts and after the sales of Pau López, Junior, Sergio Léon, Boudebouz, Inui and Brasanac, plus other departures that can be closed shortly - Camarasa, Francis, Kaptoum, Narváez or Loren have the future in the air- there would be a gap in the salary limit so that Lo Celso could continue in Betis, along with Fekir and the striker that has yet to arrive, as well as another left-handed side. It was not the initially planned plan, but the position of not selling to Lo Celso if a good offer does not arrive for him at the moment is firm on the noble floor of Villamarín.
