The basic facts are these:
We have substantial funds and seem willing to back the manager in rebuilding the team.
I think you’re absolutely right. But I don’t think Dybala will happen if the Lo Celso deal falls apart. He’s allegedly got other suitors and there’s so little time left to negotiate a deal of that kind of magnitude given the finances involved. That’s my anxiety; RB alienate us, we walk away and we don’t have time to secure another optionI’m guessing Betis playing silly buggers is where the Dybala link popped up from.
I get why people are panicking, but I think a lot of it stems from assuming that deals are done, things change rapidly in football, and there’s always a transfer or two where the selling club pulls the rug and gets greedy. Every year we have a similar situation, it doesn’t just happen to us either. It’s very easy to sit in our Spurs bubble and think we are the only ones who get messed around, but that’s obviously not the case.
I’m confident that we will get this one sorted soon, and if we don’t, we will likely move on to Dybala.

The reality is is that we're so invested in our own club that we don't look at how other clubs are doing. United have been after Bruno Fernandes since, what, the beginning of the window? They've been linked with him in the media for about as long, if not longer, than we have Lo Celso, but when they announce his signing this week, I'm sure our fans will use it as an excuse to criticise Levy.
That's just one example, but it happens with every club. The reality is is that we know too much, too early, so every transfer is an excuse to beat Levy on the head with. When Son was linked with us and then signed a day later, it was deemed as a masterstroke, but that's only because the media hadn't got wind of the (I assume) months of negotiation involved beforehand that we weren't privy to; something similar happened with Sanchez I believe, which had a pretty quick turnaround of a couple of weeks from media reporting it to him holding the shirt.
I'm a pretty big critic of Levy and he certainly has previous - our last several windows are proof of that - but the idea that other clubs are somehow nonchalantly breezing through their transfer business is nonsense.
I just want this window over and all our targets secured. I’m actually waking up in the middle of the night to check for updates. It’s ageing me horrifically. Before the window I had skin as smooth as marble, now I look like the upper part of my body got stuck in an elephant’s ballsackMaybe, but who knows, like I said, things can happen quickly. We obviously have plenty of cash this year too after the CL run and self imposed transfer ban.

Levy just has the worst luck in transfers. Every club we engage in move the goal posts on him so we are told. It’s amazing how every other club in world football doesn’t run into the same difficulty completing transfers. Life is rough for short, bald guys I guess.
There’s got to be a deadline you’d imagine. I can’t see Levy hanging around too long because it’s evident we a player of that typePersonally think we should call their bluff and withdraw our bid. Get on the Dybala train before it’s too late.

That research project is getting ever more tempting by the day.
To back this up, there have only been 3 deals clearing the 50mil mark so far in England this summer. Ndombele, AWB and Rodri. Big deals are difficult to do. City failed for Cancelo, Maguire hasn't moved, Bruno hasn't moved, Pepe isn't an arsenal player yet, Zaha hasn't moved. The reality is is that we're so invested in our own club that we don't look at how other clubs are doing. Ironic how just minutes later after this post we get ITK on how goalposts have been moved. Surely nobody can accept this as an excuse anymore from the Club, its been happening for far too long to just be accepted, We either have to change the way we operate or move onto other targets instead of being left short once again
Sure.
To prove my point, Man City - who've an infinite pot of money - were linked with Rodri as early as mid-May. Rodri has a release clause. All City had to do was what our fans are so desperate for Levy to do every single time and just 'pay the asking price'. They've pretty much got a blank cheque after all. Didn't sign him until July 4th.
It took 6 weeks for one of the richest club's on the planet to simply pay a player's release clause, yet we are expected to complete incredibly complex, multi-million pound negotiations in no time at all?
If we fail to get Poch's targets by the end of the window, Levy will have categorically failed (yet again) - of that there is no doubt - but I reiterate, to assume we're the only club that runs into trouble with transfers is patently false.

You do realise there are no games after mid-May
Why would they pay the release clause and therefore his wages, before he could actually start training and getting acclimatised for them.
Sorry that is such a bad example.
Only team you can compare our transfer strategy with seems to be Manchester United, and Woodward does not seem to have the best reputation out there.
Eh it's not like there's a straight choice between not buying anyone and paying the full asking price for every player.
