I will respectfully disagree with you on that. There are countless examples of where Ally Gold has not been kept up to date with regards to transfers.

Ally does a great job on writing numerous daily articles (although lots are sadly now click-bait) but he is definitely not the authority on transfers.

You are basically saying they would use Ally as an outlet for official news? Absolutely not.

If they use him to put out whatever information they want, then he only knows what the club wants him to know.

Unfortunately I think there is a much sadder side to this transfer saga for Fekir.

He did only have one year left on his contract at Lyon, who also wanted him gone, but a lot of papers reported that he failed a medical with Liverpool last year. There appears to be add ons and a sell on clause for Lyon upping the price considerably, but a lot of the evidence points to the fact that sadly Fekir may have something wrong with him.

But hopefully this opens the door for us to get GLC!

UEFA classifies HG as what youth system you came through rather than your actual nationality. Then there is Ben who counts as HG in the Prem but not in Europe because he trained at Swansea (Wales) but they play in the English FA. The rules are baffling.

I too was around during the glory years. The difference today is you don't play with just 11 players. This is why we need a more filled squad with plenty of quality on the bench as well as the 11 on the pitch.
I totally agree on Ndombele, I watched a lot of French football on BT last season and thought some of the passes he makes were unbelievable. We had a glimpse with the assist for Moura on Sunday.
Can't wait for him to be up to speed and look forward to seeing what, fingers crossed, GLC will bring to the table.

I agree.Poch has done well for us mostly based in a system that was built on tough defenders,pressing and counters.When it worked it was great. When it didn't it was slow build ups. I think Poch realized we needed more fluidity and with players if quality who can dribble,run and pass more opens up.
Ndombele is not Mackay but I feel he could have the same effect.Mackay was the soul of Tottenham. I'm hoping Ndombele brings that with his all round game
The players darting around the opponents half this season should be a treat.

I was actually thinking about the team Bill Nic built leading up to 60/61 and was thinking there were similarities. I haven't had a chance to speak to the old man, who also saw every game that season, so I'm interested on your take.

Nicholson came in 1958. His first game I was at we won 10-4. Nicholson bought Mackay and White in 1959. They complemented Blanchflower.They were the core along with Jones,Smith,Norman and Bill Brown.
Not all the other players were great.They were greatly inspired by Mackays soul and Danny's Brain.
The football that was created was all about the flow.In defence they created a retreating defence that snared the opposition.Great cover and marking.
In attack Blanchflower dictated the play and White was the creator.Smith and Alken were the shooters.
The Double in great style.
Then we bought Greaves.
I was in heaven.

We are building now the game has changed there us no comparison.But I want to see us dominant like we were then.
