The BBC article is from Matt Davis. no idea of reliability however LinkedIn shows him as assistant editor at BBC news. Cant see him putting his name to something plucked out of thin air.

Hopefully betis accept and we can wrap it up

Can't help but feel we're spending that kind of money before Eriksen leaves - same as when we spent the Bale money before actually selling him.

BBC reporting it is usually a good sign that there is something in it, and backs up some ITK hints in here. Looks a real class act and can play various roles.

Only worry is if it's because Eriksen is off...
we need a playmaker regardless of eriksen leaving or not

I hope both because we need both, especially if Eriksen is off. We need two CMs in if Eriksen stays and Lo Celso can play both AM and CM. If the money is there, spending it on probable quality is better than 15-20m nothing players. I say probable because nothing is guaranteed. We can't stand still any longer

Are we really sure Eriksen is going to leave though? Nothing indicates that Madrid have given up on Pogba and we'd hardly agree to sell Eriksen whilst preparing for the CL final.

4-2-2-2 with Ndombele and Sissoko behind Eriksen and Lo Celso, with Kane and Son up top.

That would certainly soften the Eriksen blow if all 3 happened. Would improve us Liverpool post-Coutinho style.

If Eriksen stayed it'd be dreamland.

Creativity from the "no8" position is what we have been crying out for so Dele can go back to being his natural no10 position. In our last WHL season he was absolutely unreal and I believe he would be again.

Fingers crossed GLC comes off, he's a real talented player that I believe would work superbly in the Poch system.

I don't think theres a chance we buy Lo Celso & Ndombele without Eriksen on the way out.

Agree. Especially if you have to up almost 80m to sign both. Not sure even if "Levy opening the purse strings" is real we have that much money available plus more for Sess, Clarke, new RB, a DM, etc without a marquee sale.

Were there not mutterings a few days back stating that we'd bid €60 million, but Betis were holding out for closer to £88 million buyout clause.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/talksp...ottenham-bid-real-betis-giovani-lo-celso/amp/

€60 million equates to a shade under £53 million. I'm thinking rehash of old news, and if correct, we've been knocked back with this offer.
I think (well, I hope) everyone knows that this bid has been/will be rejected but we're still excited because of the wider significance it has for our transfer strategy this summer.
