Galahad (COYS version of the GOAT):

"DL personally doing the work on this one. Not heard if the SO supports or opposes. The algebra has moved from impossible to improbable."

SO = Special One

I may be naïve, but I can't see Dannyboy splashing the cash on Bale if Mourinho actively opposes it.

The only way this window gets anywhere near 2018 levels is we have Bale lined up on deadline day, Spain gets quarantined and Levy, full of watery ball sack sickness, pulls the trigger on Troy Deeney

It's funny, Trix suggesting there has actually been some minor but positive movement actually makes less confident of it happening!
I think the odds are probably less likely than likely. But I suspect some ITKs are managing expectations, knowing how spurs fans can get super carried away and interpret info in whatever way suits them, just like I'm doing now really.

So, my almost baseless speculation is that it's more likely to happen than some ITKs are indicating but less likely to happen than how some fans are hoping.

Bale - I’m not going anywhere
Real - you’re now barred from every golf club in Spain, your kids have been expelled and your wife has been banished from every hair and nail salon in Spain

Well actively opposing it maybe not. But when Jol told KPB I never wanted you, and got Kaboul instead of Distin it's not beyond him.

I think Levy would love getting in Bale, I think he likes this idea of being the guy to 'bring him home', so suspect he could push even if Jose is like 'meh'.

And why should José oppose it? He'll want all the good players he can get. The only way I see him actually oppose it, is if it blocks one of Josés preferred targets, and we're able to get him in instead.

I dont think Jose would oppose to bringing in someone of Bale's quality. I know that SC has somehow gotten it through their thick skulls that Bale is a scrub now. But the reality is, when fit and firing, he is still very, very, very, very good and there is no way Jose would object to bringing him in.

Surely this'll motivate him to get playing again...

I don't play Ultimate Team, but I gather players tend to be a bit bothered by their branding. Seems a bit brutal, eh? Not in their top 100 this year (https://www.ea.com/en-gb/games/fifa/fifa-21/ratings/ratings-database).

I don't think Jose would oppose the signing, but if we miss out on a target because of the Bale signing, I think that would be a problem
