Is he even the same player he was even a year ago? When was the last time he played competitively for RM? He looked Rusty as hell for Wales recently and couldn’t last the game. This will be massive and expensive gamble and I’d rather we look for the next Bale rather than romanticising about what a fantastic player he once was for us.

I saw him on a rainy day in November at Alaves. Not only was he poor but he wasn't remotely interested.
