Getting rid of him was stupid; his class and professionalism- not to mention possible option when desperate- will be missed more than most realize. Yes, he was old and slow- but still, he was literally the reason we made the final of the Champions League- of that there can be no argument. The guy could really have helped this club through this transitional time, merely by his presence. I honestly think he should've stayed on for one more year.

Oh and btw: I love Parrott. I don't think him staying and Parrott playing would've been mutually exclusive.

Anyway, just my onions.

We didn't get rid, his contract ran out - we offered a new one but he turned it down however I think the club could have done more to get him to re-sign.

Fair enough but yes- agreed- we should have been way more proactive. Had we reached out for him, he'd still be a Yid.

Good luck to Llorente, I wish him more crosses in Naples than we ever seemed to realise would be a good idea for us and him both.

The one player I wished we had signed in his prime. I remember the rumours were rife that he was about to sign under Harry Redknapp and we played Bilboa in a pre season friendly at the Lane. The crowd cheered his every touch and I was convinced he was about to rip off his bilboa jersey at half time and play for us in the second half........ the fucker signed for Juventus and the rest as they say is history.

Bye Nando, I always liked you.

If Parrott hadn't shown Poch enough during pre-season then we probably would have been more proactive. Personally I prefer the 17 year old getting a handful of games rather than the 34 year old.

The thing that stuck with me in our champions league run was his sheer aggression when he got his run outs.

Far more than what we’d see domestically for some reason. Perhaps it was the magnitude of the occasion? He had De Ligt on toast and roughed Van Dijk up in the final too when he came on.

Glad he got his two year deal and continues to play at a great level.

Always say he should have joined us from Bilbao. Better late than never!

Nando also said:

"Please, under no circumstances, misspell my name. Especially in a Spurs fan forum thread title. I deserve better than Kristian Errikkson."

Most of the time we lumped the ball up to him he lost the header easily.
The Brighton at home game last season stands out to me for that. He lost nearly every header to their CBs

Edit: I'd have still liked him to get another year btw

Only now do we realise in what we had for two seasons. At the start his displays were frowned upon, but when it matter he produced the goods. He offered us another way against teams set up to defend, it was another option to break them down.

For me there isn't any other player like him at the minute, he would have been happy with the subs role, he was an alternative to what we have, and finally be was the model professional. Im surprised Poch let him go, Napoli will only be stronger for his presence.

Good Luck, and thank you for what you done for us.

Thought he was pretty useless tbh. A donkey with the ball at his feet. Thanks for being tall and the ball hitting your hip but calling him a legend? Nah.

He was a useful squad option to have but the issue was that we never really tailored our way of playing. We didn't resort to playing more direct with the long ball until it became quite desperate in the game. We should have employed it more frequently in my opinion - at least to keep the opposition guessing and make us less predictable.
