I love the guy. Always upbeat. Always working hard.he's really impressive defensively
He is not alone with those attributes - but, the more players we have with that attitude, the better the whole squad will be.

It’s because he has a tendency to drop and roll on the ball when he gets any contact from behind. He is very effective at getting those fouls called and he had a soft one called in his favor a few minutes before. But the one they scored was a pretty cut and dry foul. Gomes barges into his back and gets his leg inside Emersons. No attempt to play the ball and not shoulder to shoulder.Baffled why all the Sky pundits thought Royal wasn’t fouled in the build-up to the disallowed goal. The Everton player ran into Royal and took his legs.
For me there was more than enough contact for the ref to call it like you said, but thays not emerson being poor and "getting away with it", if he wasnt fouled he wouldve still been in possession and he did a great job protecting possession when pressed for the whole game, so theres nothing to say he was going to end up in trouble. To be honest the foul is just your run of the mill one where a defender draws contact and goes down. It was just odd that this time the ref didn't blow since 99% of the time they do. Var had to get involved but the ref should do better. Having said that Emerson was poor in that instance and got away with it. Other than that he did well today on his weaker side. We do need to sort a left back though assuming Davies will stay at centre back.

Absolutely put your body between your opponent and the ball and the only way an opponent can get possession is by a foulFor me there was more than enough contact for the ref to call it like you said, but thays not emerson being poor and "getting away with it", if he wasnt fouled he wouldve still been in possession and he did a great job protecting possession when pressed for the whole game, so theres nothing to say he was going to end up in trouble.
I was watching on premier sports and they all thought it was a clear foul.Baffled why all the Sky pundits thought Royal wasn’t fouled in the build-up to the disallowed goal. The Everton player ran into Royal and took his legs.
I just saw this now. i agree entirely. I actually think he offers more than both PEH and Skipp...I wonder if Royal could play the 6 role for a couple of games.
Its not a huge difference to playing the inverted fullback role - and if Romero and Van de Ven were both starting, he would have a couple of easy passing partners.
You’re both bonkers. Control of the ball is not his strong point.I just saw this now. i agree entirely. I actually think he offers more than both PEH and Skipp...
I would have him as a 6 in against brighton
I got skated by many by stating the obviousCan be back up to Porro, even on left in case of emergency (though not as 1st or even 2nd choice backup), but can't be used as backup to CB. Davies can do the shift with proper CB pairing, but Royal can't play there for longer stint no matter who is playing alongside
If Ange thinks he has a better option there, he would most definitely utilise it and not play Royal thereI got skated by many by stating the obvious
