Not much infuriates me in terms of players doing stuff and trying things but for Emerson who is crap going forwards to begin with and struggles to pass tries to make a no look pass 1-1 with a minute or two remaining - and we were in a good position - I have no words. We didnt draw because of that of course but man - fucking hell

I just had to laugh, it was so ridiculous that he tried and failed miserably to pull that off.

Don't turn him into another scapegoat. He is a limited footballer going forward we all know that and so does he. He at least tries and plays with intensity which unfortunately cannot be said for a number of our players. He won't be here in the medium term so don't get too hung up on him..

Dier and Hugo play far worse passes multiple times a game under less pressure straight into touch. Has anyone highlighted how many times Perisic just floated it in to their keeper last night?

He can barely make a pass to a player he is looking at so can only admire his self confidence to try and make a simple two yard pass looking the other way.

This could possibly be the most infuriating thing I've seen in ages and tbh sums him up. this guy struggles to pass or cross very well when he is looking (he isnt the only one). you do this sort of stuff when you are 3-0 up, not when we are chasing the game with 2 minutes left.

i hope conte slapped him for this!

yeah true. That was the only mistake any Spurs player made all night. So thanks for calling it out as I missed it.

Probably in their respective player threads. As this is the thread specifically on Emerson Royal, it makes sense to comment on his (in)abilities here imo.

Those two traits are hygiene factors imo. I want to see them allied with at least some modicum of talent and application.

They may play worse passes and Perisic crossing was pretty poor a lot of the time.

But none of them tried a stupid, flashy no look pass when they have the technique of a 5 year old and should never be attempting it in the first place. Especially as we were in a really good position to create something.
