Tough game for him to come into the team. Zaha is a very talented player, and Emerson got skinned a fair few times, but also dealt with him well at times as well.

Looked a bit hesitant going forward, and gave the ball away too much, but that may just be a symptom of not knowing his teammates. Not a great debut, but to be fair, apart from perhaps Lucas, no one played well.

I thought he was alright, you can pencil in Zaha to beat a RB 3-5 times in a match so not going to get concerned about that. Pathetic part was how many forward runs he made only for Winks & Skipp to be too scared to spread the play.

Exactly this, the sending off curtailed any forward runs but before he made 5 to 6 runs where Winks and Skipp played the safer ball. Neither are good enough! Homegrown one of our own or not.

I thought he did quite well. He clearly wanted to get forward in the first half but the midfielders couldn't pick out his runs. So he seemed to revert to more of a full back.

With 3 pretty defensive midfielders I'd hoped our full backs would be able to get forward more but it didn't happen.

Wasn't helped by the fact that whenever he did make a forward run, none of our CM's thought to play the diagonal his way. Compare that to Palace, where Andersen ( who I thought we should have bought) was pinging the perfect diagonal passes to Zaha.

Wouldn't have played him today. Rodon for Sanchez would have caused less disruption to the back line. As it was he played OK nothing more.

I had assumed the reason for playing with 3 DM's and Dele would mean he and Reguilón bombing up and down the flanks. I was wrong!! :)

TBF he made plenty of runs in the first half but our midfielders played it safely backwards instead of trying to pick him out.

A very tough first assignment — away against Zaha who got the better of him a few times.
Didn’t really get much opportunity to show what he can do overlapping.
Overall, a pretty mediocre performance that should be judged in context to a poor team effort.

People seem to be over looking the fact that Zaha will get the better of pretty much anyone at least a few times during a match.
We weren't playing Norwich, the defence was decimated, as was our midfield.
He did as well as could be expected imo.
At least he didn't give away any shit for brains freekicks or a penalty which is a big improvement on Aurier for starters.

I like his size and physicality.

Nuno set him up to fail today on a debut with make shift backline and going against Zaha. This was tailor made game for Tanganga to play RB against Zaha and Rodon start at CB.
