When you consider the quality of the left flank in Perisic and Son, Spence should see alot of space to run into down the right with Deki coming inside.

Looks supremely balanced on paper and a nightmare for opposing managers to counteract.
It's a frightening prospect

Djed Spence poised to complete £12m move to Tottenham

Djed Spence is expected to finally complete his protracted transfer from Middlesbrough to Tottenham Hotspur on Friday.

The two clubs held fresh discussions on Thursday and it is thought a fee of around £12 million has been agreed for the England Under-21 international.

Antonio Conte, the Tottenham manager, has been eager to sign the player, who can operate as a right back or a right wing back, throughout the summer.

Spence, for his part, had told friends that he would only move to Spurs once their interest had become apparent.

Negotiations between the two clubs, however, looked to have broken down several weeks ago, with a £5 million gap in valuation on Spence, who starred last season on loan for Nottingham Forest as they were promoted to the Premier League.

But The Times understands a fresh round of talks on Thursday moved the two clubs toward a settlement and the likely conclusion of the move will come on Friday, with possible additional bonus payments to follow the agreed fee.

So we are down from 7-10 days to possibly 7-10 hours now? ?

If the base fee is £12m when it has previously been reported that £20m is what’s being mooted….

Our chairman…

Yes, yes, I know add ons and stuff, but fuck it. I feel like giving Levy some credit. He’s due a bit now and again in my mind. ????

**edit**

I truly hope Gibson got Levy’d.

I'm not sure it is wise to get rid of Royal, I feel it closes off any possibility of moving to a back 4?

Good price, worth extra time to haggle for a better deal. HG with lots of potential in key position, every deal we made makes so much sense. Paratici era is very sensible so far.

Many of us have claimed that it would come in between an initial 10 and 15 m, now lets hope all the talk about DS poor attitude is overhyped and we are getting a real player

I'm hoping it's going to be a fun time Friday on this one today, but I suspect we would have heard more about him having completed his medical, etc.

There’s still time. I’ve noticed that new signings are often not announced until about 10am US East Coast Time. The real difficult part is all the marketing/media stuff that goes into it.
