Really good yesterday imo, almost like having an actual coach helped him in-game. If he could become consistent, and cut out the weird panic he has - we’d have a player on our hands. Feels like all of our defenders have been sapped of all confidence lately.

Would still sell him for £20m plus.

I think it's a mix of being constantly under pressure from dropping back, and Jose throwing people under the bus.

Look at Shaw. He was terrible under Jose. We are now seeing the real luke Shaw.

He's a lot like Dier where they're pretty good for like 90% of the game but that other 10% is just disastrous and will constantly cost you points.

Yeah, you cannot trust them unfortunately. Everyone makes mistakes but they just make costly ones too often.

Remember who our Defensive coach was.

I'll never understand why some people still think he's a good player. It baffles me.

Everyone has their onions though so all good. I disagree obviously though lol
You would imagine the scouting and coaching team at Sevilla know a thing or two more about what is and what isn't a shit defender though right?

Has he been poor for us at times? Yes. Is he a shit defender, no. Agree it's about opinions, but there's reasonable opinions like he's a bit too crap for us right now and there's opinions about the fact he can't control a ball and looks scared of the ball.

Maybe?

People constantly praise Sevilla recruitment because they only hear about their successes when in fact what they really do is just throw tons of shit at the wall.

You'd also think the scouting and coaching team at Manchester City would know a thing or two about defenders but after spending about 50 million each on about seven different CBs it seems like they've finally found a good one.

Overall though this is very simply a logical fallacy as it's an appeal to authority and one which is quote poor when you consider how truly dumb some football clubs can be.

They also both buckle horrifically under pressure, especially at the end of important games. I'll never forget that 3-3 West Ham game.

Just don’t think the intensity of the premier league is for him. Spain or Italy I feel would suit him a lot better.

Notice how we have nobody in the high positive impact passes? If our attackers can't be positive, you can't expect the defence to be positive!

That's not the point of the graphic.... Negative impact passes are passes that lead to an opposition chance! its not saying that our defenders don't create chances we don't need them to do that... would be nice if they didn't constantly panic and give the ball away in dangerous areas though.

But that's the point, our ball players weren't positive. They didn't get into space, they didn't show for it. They immediately our defenders under pressure
