Step down - Behave. Would be going to arguably the biggest club in the world, certainly the biggest in this country. We really seem to think we are bigger than we really are, don't we. We are not on the same level as Man Utd in any possible measurement other than we finished above them last season

Last season and most of seasons after SAF left. Bookies favor us to do it again next season. Playingwise right here, right now it's a step down.

Only way this will fly is if we get way over the price we should given his contract situation and we get two in to replace, either both Lo Celso and Fernandes, or one of them and someone else, Dybala or whoever. For the love of all things good, please not only one.

Just got to hope if he does indeed end up at united, that the £50 million is worth risking them potentially finishing above us in the race for CL

If he wants to go to United, he can fuck right off. He overplayed his hand and now rather than committing to us after his dream move didnt happen, hes going to leave anyway? Not only that...he's doing it close to deadline day so it's more difficult to seal other deals up!

I suspect Eriksen has burnt a few bridges and that 300k a week contract is suddenly looking very tempting indeed - even more so if Levy is whispering in his ear telling him to GTFO.

Yup I think we don't have much of a choice to be honest. I say we let him go and rinse Utd for as much cash as possible.

However, it's imperative that we reinvest that cash on TWO players in his position or else we'll have moved backwards and will have a fight on our hands for top 4.

Im sure we would reinvest it but it wont buy two players... unless we put it towards any cash we have but we still wont pay what clubs are asking for which is understandable but we could have 200m we still wont pay 70m for GLC or whatever the amount is.

I do agree that this whole one in one out isnt really strengthening the squad given we had real squad number issues previously

Selling Dembele for a few mil was worth the risk and then we ended up with barely a fit midfielder in the whole squad.. so the board will take the 50 from a direct rival with happiness...

We’re in such a shit position. Sporting and Betis have us over a barrel with the fees. They know how we operate and that there would be 0 chance we let eriksen leave for free. If we sell him we’ll have more money and be even more desperate to sign replacements

Face the fact.
Sell him now, get the money , reinvest
OR
Keep him, he sulks, end of the year , he walks on a free. And very much possible same United could get him on a free.

Also face the fact that we sell him to Utd which strengthens a rival massively and we lose the player that makes us tick. We dont get deals done or only replace him with 1 player who hasnt had a preseason with us, doesnt know the league and thus makes us weaker as a team and Utd very possibly finishes above us in the league. If you are honestly ok with it then im baffled.

The fact its gotten to the stage where he could join Utd is a shambles

Very very happy for him to be sold.

My concern is will we actually replace him properly.

And what I actually had hoped. We’d have better attacking options, so that means his replacement plus another to avoid those benches of GK, LB CB RB DCM plus two more

I still don’t believe we’d sell Eriksen to Man Utd. The Man U links are being used to smoke a team out from Europe to make an offer before our deadline day.
Real and Barca aren't interested and all the other big clubs either don't want him or won't pay him half of what he'd get at Utd.

At this stage it's surely either Utd or he sees our his contract.

100% this - they might have the stature and trophies but they’ve been hopeless since SAF left - we ARE ahead of them on the pitch and if CE goes there then he’s not looking for the upward move he claimed and is just selling out for moolah!

Manchester United under clown Ed Woodward is a graveyard for talents.

There is not 1 transfer which has succeeded well.

Just look at the list of players whose careers have gone down moving to Manchester & joining them
Sanchez, DiMaria,Falcao,Pogba,Mkhtiaryan,Fred,Schneiderlin,Depay,Martial,Valdes,Mata...

It seems United are going to sell Pogba & may be get one more (other than CE) midfielder in.

If he rejected a new 200k a week deal from us & his new challenge is actually United under Ole, then no 2 ways about it - he is going for a money. Good for him. I dont spite him for that. But I honestly believe , his career will be downhill in general

As for as us, only way to protect ourself shorterm is to spend. Whether its GLC and BF or GLC/BF and a RB - we got to get them in soon.
