Didn’t we buy him for 11m? I’d rather write that off than let him go to Utd. When he’s a free agent next year, you can bet he won’t join Utd. I don’t see why we would want to strengthen a direct rival? How much is a Champions league place worth next year? I would imagine it’s more than Utd will give us.

Ron I don’t know you but I hope you’re right!

I am right I've been.mentioning this for 2 or 3 weeks you can check out my posts
Though I must say I got so much abuse. You see the red line. That was the result
I don't know if it's going to happen but I will say this.
Levy is going to take the bread and put it against the second MF.Add that to the miserable mush we had to look at because he cant go to Real Madrid despite Bales experience
Add to that the penalties and worse the effort and that mush when he scored the goal....

Ndombele Fernandes Lo Celso and Sessegnon.
We will make history.

if he sees United as the ‘change’ (£££) he wamts, then lets milk them for all we can and get rid. heart/head clearly not with us.

Not sure if it's about that. 40-50m goes towards signing Bruno/Lo Celso (both preferably). Leaving for free likely means no extra body.

I think there are other options such as selling to someone on the continent at a reduced rate. It isn't my money but i'd probably lose 10-20m not to strengthen a rival.

Well, selling in football is not same as real world transaction. When you say sell him to continental team, fact is he has to agree as well. If his stand is, Madrid or United or I walk on a free next year...club cannot force sell him

Agreed. i elaborated a little bit more on this further on and said exactly that.

Comeon mate, Ramsey gets 400k a week & he misses loads of games unlike Eriksen. Be realistic

Ramsey played in 28 PL games scoring 4+6. If we get replacement in and things are sour between club and CE, he is at risk of getting low minutes making European offers more enticing.

Moving this in here as to not spam the ITK thread, I think you're right regarding Herc's ITK @Vinny_Sammways_left_peg. Think he might be referring to the Mail report saying United are after Eriksen which in turn would see us go for Bruno.

How much do we generate by making Champs League?

Selling him to United surely jeopardises our top 4 chances, so the price will have to be more than what we would get from playing in the group phase of the Champions League at the very least.

Otherwise, sell him to Madrid for a cut price deal and move on.

If he's sold he's potentially worth £50m+
You really think Levy is going to want to let that value drain away if he can help it, especially given Eriksen's indifferent form this year

I don't disagree with your position but might not choose it myself. At the end, my/our argument is a bit of a theoretical one. If other clubs are interested, especially continental ones, they would tell Levy and Christian about it and likely make a general/budget offer which woudl then allow the three parties to conclude whenever. if there are no little birds whispering then that's a tough decision and for 50m, i'd probably sell to ManU. 20-30m, probably not since they could be in the thick of things with us for that CL spot next year. If we had brought more players in, i'd be more inclined to do it. but without a greater number of incoming quality signings, i'd bank on Christian having an amazing year as he would be on one massive tryout.

I think his heads gone mate but I am with you that I'd rather sell for less abroad than more in the Prem. all hypothetical as we don't know who is in for him and how interested he is in them

Will be so disappointed with Eriksen if he goes there. Won't be particularly happy with Spurs either.

The only way selling to Utd for more money can be justified for me is if we go and make 2 £50-60m signings.

If its Eriksen out and one in then I'd much rather sell him abroad for £10-20m less.

I'd imagine we may be driving this

United are clever they are jumping on to a deal.
Another club in the PL wouldn't have any status and cant pay
We need it too 50-70m is a big number. It will help pay for the 3 I mentioned
We would have a sensational team.
It will be up to Poch to make sure we are ahead if United in the league

And RM gets it up the backside.A bit of sugar for the good guys

Yep, the only reason selling to United is acceptable is if its the only way we can guarantee getting both GLC/Fernandes as he needs to be sold by the deadline.

If we don't get both in to replace Eriksen then we might as well have just sold him abroad for less.

I just want him sold abroad, if he is to leave. Don't even mind if the price tag is significantly lower

Like Zero?

I guarantee you if Levy could find a European punter of note that would 100% buy him for 40m one day before the clock strikes 12 he will do it.

All true about him and yanited. Been burning for a while!...
thanks Herc....such a shame that he would choose the, once mighty, pound over the project (and a fair few pounds) with us. Bit disappointed in him and Toby, but that was from a year ago and am resigned to him leaving for free next summer. CE, genuinely thought he'd stay if RM/ Barca said no.
