He has said that he either gets his dream move or he signs a new deal. Nothing has changed and there is no evidence to make us think he is anything but a man of his word.

Im not concerned about his word but rather his choices. He has left us for dead waiting for RM and he might decide to stay. Is that respect?

I have to say I still think he leaves us this window.

Seems like he hasn’t signed a new contract and we won’t risk him leaving on a free.

Also explains the Dybala links. Have a feeling Madrid are going to come in with a bid just before the deadline.

I just wonder how on earth Levy plays this. Madrid can feasibly wait until the English deadline passes before bidding for Eriksen knowing full well we won’t risk him leaving on a free in 12 months. So they can lowball Levy, who will be forced to sell but then we are unable to sign a replacement. Because we aren’t going to sign Dybala on the offchance that Eriksen May be sold.

That will probably leave us with GLC being a straight swap for Eriksen and we will still be left short going into the new season, rather than actually making us stronger by adding GLC to Eriksen and having two to play that role, we may be weaker which would just be so typical.

It seems a really tricky situation for us to manage through.

If we only sign GLC and lose Eriksen without adding another creative AM I’ll be pissed.

I suppose that’s why we set Eriksen a deadline. If he hasn’t signed a new contract I imagine we will be actively looking to sell him to any club that’s interested and we will be actively securing his replacements whilst we can.

Yes it is. He has said he will only go to a bigger club and that only a couple in the world are currently bigger than us. He isn't some local boy come good. We have to know our place when it comes to international transfers. Barca and Real are the two clubs that fans of the game with no local bias dream of playing for.

Unless Madrid come in for him I can seeing him sitting tight for a year. A player of his quality would interest a lot of top teams in Europe if he’s on a free.

Juventus are overstocked with midfielders I can’t see them paying 60-70m this summer for him

Our only saving grace with this is to find another team that he could be interested in. I think there were some things written about Atletico and the latest rumours about Juve and Dybala and Eriksen. While Levy wouldn't want to sell him to a rival if Man U can with 70 mil would he refuse it if he could buy Dybala?

He could have signed a one year extension and asked to be sold to RM that way we are covered

You should have broken his leg whilst you had the chance

What makes this whole scenario feel different to other sagas we’ve had in the past (Modric, Bale to RM, Walker to City) is that there really isn’t a big newspaper contingent pushing for the move, no obvious public agenda.

Maybe Eriksen isn’t that type of person, but with the three I mentioned, it just felt like the move was going to happen at any minute. The silence on this is deafening.

Yeah, I don’t see why he wouldn’t do this. If he signed a new contract with a clause that states if Madrid come in with a bid over 80 million we sell, the player still gets his move and we still get compensated.

The problem is, does Levy proactively sign Eriksen replacement with the risk that Madrid may not come in for him, or does he play it safe and sell Eriksen and leaving us weaker as we will he unable to sign a replacement in time, which would be totally unacceptable for us fans POV

People currently have a tendency to underrate Dele in general imo, but in particular the creative side of his game as well.

I don't think he's a playmaker. He's second last touch, or the scorer. He really does need to cut out trying to nutmeg every fker though, everyone's wise to it now

My View is this. That Levy priced Eriksen at 130 mil and even if he got close to 100 he could buy one or two players to cover the spot. So he fished for players,Lo Celso seems like a pick but he never went for it yet because if Eriksen would have sold he could have secured LO Celso and even pay higher price if he had to but as the Eriksen situation still lags,I think at around the price he has bid he would buy because on spec its still good value and also cover.
I would imagine Levy has set a deadline re Eriksen If Eriksen signs for us I think then Levy could still by Lo Celso but at the lower area of price or according to how much Poch really wants him,may raise the bidto secure him . Meanwhile Dybala is there in the wings as a maybe where Levy can get some more quality if he can swap.
I think the situation with Eriksen has to come to a head within a few days one way or another.I mean vis a vis buying someone else

With Ndombele playmaking starts deeper so there should be more space created by the time it feeds down to the AM and the others. It should be different than last season that way

CE strikes me as the sort of player that will protect himself/not give us full commitment next season if he is leaving on a free next season.

We need to either get rid now or tie him down. No half measures.

I just can't see him signing a contact while the window is open.
Hopefully there is an agreement with him that if no big club comes in for him then there is a contract waiting for him to sign.

Just wondering, what has given you this impression. His workrate, performances and professionalism for what i can see has never faltered (aside from the usual player dips in form) and is above most others in the squad (workrate).

He shirks a tackle more than most. Can only see that being more pronounced if he’s saving himself for a big move.

Imo Levy will never let the contract expire. Eriksen will either sign with a few days left of the window or make a desission not to. That way we can get a replacement and he will be sold after the window closes.

It's business and the door swings both ways. It has nothing to do with respect.

I like him a lot and his contribution to the team is immense. That said, I can't remember a player that shirks so many 50/50 challenges.

But that has nothing to do with Eriksen having 4 or 1 year left on his contract. He has never been a player that gets stuck in and wins tackles. It’s stupid to say that he suddenly has stopped getting stuck in when he has never been that kind of player.
