We really are in such a good position here. Seems like it’s either we keep Eriksen for next season and beyond or we get Dybala (unless Liverpool comes in for him, I think we have as good, if not better, chance than anyone to get him) as a result of an Eriksen sale. I’m petty calm about it all which is making me question my sanity.

Not sure where he’s gotten this - haven’t seen it reported anywhere else.

It's in the Dybala article, almost a throwaway sentence but to be fair to hotspurlane he didn't twist the words of the article, that's actually what it said.

Ricky Sacks, on the other hand...

Madrid may have changed their minds in the last 25 mins... They may be in some real trouble. They look absolutely wretched.

I’ve been a bit surprised about the narrative around their “rebuild” this summer. They’ve done some good business, but besides Hazard I don’t think they’ve really bought anyone that will improve their first 11 next season. Plus losing Asensio without an obvious replacement.

Jovic, Militao, Mendy are long-term replacements for Benzema, Ramos, and Marcelo but none of them improvements now. Rodrygo looks good for an 18 year old but it’s not exactly a group of Galacticos. They’ve also shed a lot of their midfield depth in Ceballos, Llorente, and Kovacic. Modric is 34 and Kroos looked a bit off the pace last season.

Surely Barcelona has improved more with De Jong and Griezmann who should slide immediately into their starting 11.

Concern is we have 12 days to sell and replace or the next time the transfer window is open he will be signing a pre-contract to leave for free. There is no way we will get Dybala if we take an £80m loss on Eriksen

Be interesting to see how he plays next season.
He came out straight after the CL final that he was open to a move
Yet no club bigger than us really went in hard for him .

Will he play with a renewed ambition
