My take is , Raiola & Pogba make all the noise but RM wont pay the premium for him and wont go for him. Pogba will get a new deal at United. RM will come for Eriksen with a low ball offer. We will end up taking the deal. RM may throw in loan

Could be

I find it crazy that people think what dictates a price is whether the buying club see him as a star or a squad player. No what dictates a price is his importance to the selling team and whether somebody is willing to pay what we value him at. We're not going to sell him for 70/80 million below what Madrid just paid for Hazard who has the same contract situation because Madrid see Hazard as a star and Eriksen as depth, it's ludicrous. Eriksen isn't as good as Hazard fine, but he's not worth 80 million less.

I'm glad it's Levy who's negotiating this fuck me.

Madrid can have him for free at the end of the season and they don't seem desperate to sign him like they were with Hazard. There's no way I see them forking out 70m for what amounts to one season of Christian Eriksen. We're between a rock and a hard place because Eriksen doesn't have to go anywhere else and he only wants Madrid. Levy has a choice between get what you can now or have a sulky Eriksen for a season and then lose him for nothing. I don't think there's any chance he'll sign a new contract now.

Would anyone not rather keep the little genius and have him as a deeper playmaker with two absolute beasts in Sissoko and Ndombele next to him.

What makes you say that though ? Some of the ITK suggested he was getting a little pissed off. It didn't suggest that was directly at us though. Perhaps he is frustrated at Real dragging their heals ? I don't see why he would turn down an improve contract should the move to Madrid not happen. This last part is opinion but I also don't see why he would go there if he is told that he will be playing as a squad player and rotating with Arsensio, Isco or Pogba either. I think he is better than that.

I'd just better clarify the 'pissy' part of my post yesterday. That's exactly as it was passed to me.

That doesn't mean he's downed tools or gone on strike it just means he's pissed off about the situation and he's making that known. In his defence Madrid have been courting him for ages and all of a sudden they won't pay up what's required to get him because he's not pivotal in their plans. They do still want him and the club's are still talking but it's not the fore gone conclusion I believe he was expecting it to be.
Is he actually even back at the club yet? Extended holiday - maybe back this week? @Breezer - do you know?
Maybe he was getting 'pissy' with his missus! :cautious::whistle:;)

Fucking hell, the man's leaving, some may not begrudge him the move, some may.

Personally, and it is just one mans opinion, he is mugging us off.

Levy should get the best deal possible or let Poch do what he wants while he runs the contract down - it'll only reinforce Spurs approach in the future when it comes to signing new deals or looking to be moved on.

Surely as a player now, playing for this team Under Poch, you're either in or out.

If the clubs are talking (as suggested byITK) it's fair to assume that RM are interested although not straining at the leash. If there was zero interest or he was told they didn't want him, I think he might sign on again, but that doesn't seem to be the case. In a year's time, RM can have him for nothing, Eriksen can get a fat signing on fee and we get zilch, and I don't think Levy will let tha happen. I think we'll end up with a disappointing fee (sadly).

*And I am one of them. I don't think it's a universally held opinion though sadly.
I think its down to what we get it what we don't get financially
And of course how committed he will be.
Not sure he would. Its not about begging him it's about him selling himself to us again (not sure if he could drum up belief after this mess)

He is mugging us off and I would do the same. By waiting the extra year he will still be sought after and would get a massive signing on fee and wages to boot. It seems Madrid is a) disinterested in him in which case he needs to get over it and sign the contract or b) they want to offer a low ball figure in which case do we keep him because 30m aint going to cut it etc..

It swings in roundabouts, we show loyalty the door but others also show us the door so to speak...

I would say Eriksen have put himself in this shitty position, last years performance hasn't been top notch.

Maybe better stay put where you know what you have, than go Madrid an have to fight for every playing min's, but overall he have to put his finger in ground and realize where he stands.

If he doesn’t go to RM now, then he has absolutely no guarantee they will still want him next year. They won’t take him just because he is on a free.
Best for all, if RM do indeed want him, is to sell now. Otherwise he’ll just be a dead weight here, whilst we pay him his wages for someone who doesn’t want to be here.
