His biggest issue is he only wants one team. That team was seemingly very keen and laid all the groundwork for a move, behind the scenes, up until March-May. They then changed manager and that one team doesn't care as much any more.

I'm sure there are other teams out there that could use his quality.
We could.
Can he walk it back?
The problem now is he went for the other woman and now he has to come back cap in hand.
We have been admiring a few others.
So what will Eriksen say to make it all better?
The longer it goes on the more complicated it becomes.
How does Poch feel about it all is a big question.
They have been proactive in negotiating with replacements surely.
What holds the balance is the fact that we may get nothing for Eriksen.
So what will give first.

Really wouldn't want to sell him to a domestic rivals for those reasons. While personally he has peaks and troughs, since he came here he has consistently been one of the top creators. He may lack the stardust for Real but would significantly strengthen someone like Utd in the league, as he has done for us.

You cannot sell your best players to direct rivals and expect to challenge for the top honours.

Would Spurs or even United for that matter pay £50m for a player with only one year left on his contract? I don't think so. They'll wait.

Hopefully he will sign and extended and improved contract and stay. However (he whispers), I would probably stick around for a year and see what materialises in 6 months time.

I'm actually still sure that he must care for Spurs though and do a decent thing (hopefully).

With the trend that star players are opting to run down their contracts, it might be worthwhile to think about giving them signing on fees to re-sign their contracts. This should be cheaper then going out to buy someone who might not fit in.

Don't players already get a signing on fee when they sign a new contract? Are you suggesting throwing more money at them? You'd just be making rich players richer no?

Eriksens's situation is looking like it's holding everything up (maybe predicated by the Pogba situation) it's a shame as we were on the front foot, now we've gone back to side and back passing

When will fans realise this is business and not some sort of relationship? Stop acting like jilted lovers and be objective.

Keeping eriksen (him signing a new contract) is the best outcome for us.

Rm buying eriksen is the second best.

Eriksen signing for utd is 3rd best.

Eriksen leaving on a free is the worst.

If he says he wants to sign a new contract he signs. End of story.

Not really, since he holds a lot of the cards. If he wants to stay for a year then try to pick up a megabucks deal as a free agent he can. We can't stop him. All we can do is threaten not to play him, but then that's far worse than just letting him go for a fee below our expectations this summer. Players are more powerful than clubs these days and that's especially true in their final year.

As it's a business and not a love story,I'll tell you Libaz that we cleverly well.might lose a lot if money with this situation.
Have you noticed we haven't bought anyone yet for that position it's because we don't have the cards,Eriksen does.
It's Eriksen that has a problem with the love bit as he loves RM and doesn't really love us.
I love Tottenham.
So as far as the finance part we might be getting it up the backside soon.

Id wager he signs for RM later this summer for less than the 60m Levy wants. It makes the most sense.

Sure Levy would not have a choice.the only way we may have a chance is if Poch can speak with him and sign for a year will give everyone time to think about it.
If he signs for RM later it maybe too late for us to sign someone else.It looks like Olmo may be on meanwhile but one more would be nice

I think RM want him more than they are admitting. Last year of contract, RM just have to appear they aren't too bothered and they know we'll be desperate to get something for him. We need a bidding war! How did we allow this to happen. I'm surprised Levy let it get to this point. I guess, what could he do?

They buy Pogba and get a 2 4 1
Levy has no leverage
Only Eriksen has
