Pretty much. And as they should. The club can't afford for key assets to execute Bosman deals.
If Eriksen wants to move to Madrid, why on earth would he agree to a 3-4 year deal anywhere else right now???? He can go to Madrid for nothing in a few months. Got to remember the player has choice, if he won't commit to us, why would he kill his madrid dream elsewhere?

Madrid have us by the balls. They know full well we will have to sell as the window draws to a close. I can see them getting him for 60 mill or so which will be pitiful from our point of view.

I just can't see them signing both him and Pogba though.

If he could find what he wants he might
If he loved us he would sign for another year so we could get some money for him
It will be interesting to see what he does if we fail to reach an agreement with Madrid. Will he sign an extension? Will he sulk? It's going to be intriguing.

He wants Madrid. His quickest way to Madrid is to run his contract down. The player has choice and signing a new deal (without a release clause) /signing for another team probably kills that.

We don't really know if they really want him do we?

Agree, but this isn't bothering me half as much as the Bale or Modric saga.
We've grown in stature as a club and don't have to put up with so much shit anymore.

Dude totally- except that the whole saga's kind of giving me PTSD-lite flashbacks to those heart-ripping-out-from-my-fucking-chest horror shows. First Berbatov, then Modric, then Bale...I wanted to go in my room, lay down on my bed, kick my feet and punch my pillow and cry...not that I did that of course...I mean not exactly...

Seriously though those times took SO much out of me that I kind of thought we were past it-- and now, just as we're possibly/almost assembling a squad of true killers-- as in, players that can beat anyone- and now here goes that little fucker Eriksen overturning the apple cart. Honestly- if this thing just got the fuck done and we got $$$ and maybe a player or whatever I'd be ok with it; it's the whole protracted wait-and-see, will-they-or-won't-they, will-he-or-won't-he garbage that I just can't stomach.

Also, I truly find Real Madrid disgusting. Honestly if it was Barcelona I'd get it; but the Los Fagos make me ill.

My comment had nothing to do on the liklihood of a that scenario occuring, just acknowledging that the club will want to get a transfer fee for him. Obviously it will always come down to the player accepting a move.

I actually think Barcs game would fit Eriksen better than Madrid

That's a different point altogether. You keep going on in this thread about United and selling to a rival. That seems almost impossible as it would defeat Eriksens objective: Get to Madrid.

I imagine something would have to massively change for that to happen. For example, the club/player relationship becomes so rotten.

So do I! And I always thought that that was his dream destination!

Then all of a sudden it morphed into "It's always been my dream to play for Real Madrid."

Fucking enrages me. I detest that club. Barcelona at least I could see; them- no, sorry. Fuck them.

It might well stop a few others from signing contracts with us at all! I'm almost gobsmacked by the amount of people so willing to be petty and cost the club millions just to screw over an employee who's given the club excellent service over the last 6 years or so and now wants to leave for a better job, but then I remember that this is the internet so why be surprised...

Chris is doing the best thing for him. We will need to do the best for spurs. If we bring in cebellos and lo celso then they will need game time. It's nothing personal it is business. It's not like we haven't offered him contracts or will not listen to offers from madrid.

I think in my opinion the fact he wants outs been on his mind. I know there's people that say but everyone was bad. There was something about last season that was just disinterested head else where etc. In my opinion also I think us and him need a fresh start here he's a superb player and has been fantastic for us I just feel Eriksen amongst few others should be move on for fresh faces

I'd swap Modric for Eriksen. Winks, Skipp etc... would learn more from him in 1/2 seasons than playing with CE for another season

The one from last thing for me us not sell to a rival. He isn't Cristiano Ronaldo. Not sure how world class he is but he isn't a game changer in my opinion

Maybe he could adapt his game but can't see him in that Modric role. He has the talent for it
But you need something more. Maybe he has that inside but just watching Modric in the Euros and watching Eriksen in the CL final I'm not sure.
It's about soul.
At Barca he can recycle and recycle and hit a nice pass.
At Madrid you have to be very proactive with Galactical spirit

There is now way Eriksen can play the Modric role. He's too lightweight. Modric for all his ball playing ability was tenacious and dynamic, he got stuck in.

My take is , Raiola & Pogba make all the noise but RM wont pay the premium for him and wont go for him. Pogba will get a new deal at United. RM will come for Eriksen with a low ball offer. We will end up taking the deal. RM may throw in loan

Poch’s dream is to manage Real Madrid and Argentina. We just have to accept that RM and Barca are bigger draws then we are. They each win trophies every year and offer far more money. Players and managers like Poch and Eriksen will always want to go to one or the other. That’s just the way she goes

What is Levy thinking the last thing that he wants from Eriksen. Selling to a rival isn't good or giving up the 50 mil isn't good. Two bad choices

What does Pochettino think?
Player not really giving us a chance.Been playing that game for a while while not playing footie at his best. What is Poch thinking?

Get 50 mil plus 50 mil of your own and buy 2 or 3 players and match United to our quality
