I think Johnson can do a lot better than he has been doing, but because I’m a normal bloke* with a normal brain*, oddly I don’t feel the need to go on twitter and rip him a new one. Even if people don’t think he’s good enough, it’s very, very obvious he’s a nice young guy. He’s never flashy, no diversive comments, always positive about Spurs in interviews etc etc.

The percentage of people who lay into him online versus the percentage of those same people insulting him to his face i’d imagine is very low. Cowards and mouth breathers. I’m seriously considering starting a GoFundMe to build a phone/computer that automatically electric shocks anyone who is in the process of typing a pathetic post onli…. OUCH!

You have to remember that Harry Winks and Eric Dier have moved on and Emerson has used voodoo to turn his fortunes around. The hand pumps need someone to sound off about.

Has all the attributes, it’s just about putting them together consistently. Can see all the talent, but he’s young and raw, seems the sort that wants to work hard and improve. I think he’ll do well here

I think the most important factor here is its just too early to have a strong opinion formed one way another.

He's a young player who has a got a big move, and lets see how he develops under Ange.

I think he's talented and will produce consistently given time when his confidence grows.

Genuine question, maybe more for discussion or you see something thst i don't, but why do you think he will produce consistently if he is given the time?

Size of the fee aside for a moment, i havent and cannot see that in this player at the moment.

I woulnt insult him, wish ill on the kid or anything else, but i just see someone who has ability who maybe able to comr up with the odd moment of something decent here and there rather than a consisent attacker for a team with title aspirations.

Doesnt track back, is slow to react, misaing a final ball, isnt quick enough to get past a player initially, needs too long to decide what to do to name a few bits ive seen this season.

Some of those are coachable, some arent either, so im sat in the camp of hoping it works for him and club, but i just cannot see it

I find it odd the criticism he gets. He’s young and only 6 months into his spurs career. For all we know he’s carrying an injury like son last season or just taking time to settle and find his role in anges system. I think he offers pace and probably needs to be on the right consistently to find form

They are the same people that when the player turns it around will be over egging how good he is.

I never understand the need to tell everyone that one of your players is shit.

Is it cause they want to be seen as correct.

Like anything, the best way is to always be restrained with evaluations because whilst people won't turn around and credit you for getting an evaluation right, they won't laugh at you for writing a player off.

Suppose we live in an era of having to be first rather than correct though.
