if we could do a 35M plus Sanchez/Tanganga deal we should be all over it, gives us great options on either flank, Richarlison as CF which Son could also cover...
If he wasn’t HG no one would be thinking we should be all over £35m plus a player. You can get a much better player for that on the continent!

Only reason people might want him is because he’s HG, for me it’s a massive NO!

If he wasn’t HG I don’t think we would look twice at him. Never been impressed by him. Hope this doesn’t materialise, would be poor business imo especially at the reported price.
Actually really rate him tbh. Think he has bags of potential and is at a good level now in a messy struggling team.

I know stats aren’t the end all and FBRef is just a snapshot., but it’s one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Whether as forward or as AM/Winger. It’s brutal.

But Brentford, who are all about stats, are in for him big time.

I’d be surprised if we went for him, I know he was mentioned last summer but a lot has changed since then (including his price going up). I don’t even think he’s the player we want most at Forest long term, but they’re pricing people out of the market.

Brentford are a very direct team, though, where Johnson's pace on the break will be a huge asset.

We'll be playing a v.different style under Ange and there are question marks about how he'd function in a team that wants to dominate the ball and he won't have as much space to work with.

I do think he could be an interesting option, though, and I'd assume Ange would have a firm idea of how he'd work him into the side if we were to invest big money in him.

If Ange wants him, then go for it. If he doesn't, then hopefully it won't happen anyway. Ange doesn't strike me as a bloke who will put up with the club signing players who don't fit his ethos and demanding style.

I’ve played and coached at a paid professional level (still coach at a paid level now), personally I don’t really need or want stats to make my judgement on a player.

I’ve seen Brennan Johnson play quite a few times and he has good pace, physicality, can dribble fairly well, decent finisher, movement isn’t bad, can play RW & ST, young, homegrown. I see a good player who is hardworking, good attitude, willing to learn, reads the game fairly well and with potential to improve.

He reminds me a bit of Ollie Watkins tbh.

Each to their own as football is a game of opinions but personally I think for the right price he’d be a decent young squad addition.

Of the 3 young strikers linked, him, Gift and Veliz.. just purely based on the highlights clips shared, Johnson loses out based on a couple of things

1) the other 2 look like pure clinical #9s (that fits the ange preferred type)

2) the other 2 seem to physically dominate their opponents

so it would seem like they’d be better fits?

Daily mail reporting that Nottingham Forest owe millions in overdue payments to players and agents, with legal action being considered if they don't settle the debts imminently.

This could be why we’re sniffing about Johnson? Maybe we think they will accept a more reasonable fee for him given the circumstances. 🤔

Weren't Forest interested in Sanchez? Or did I imagine that?
Probably true, you name just about any player and Forest have usually been interested in them - and have bought a high percentage of them too !

I wasn't overly keen until I saw a twitter thread saying how he is very good off the right and uses his pace to break the lines and assist.

With son, Richy, Perisic and Gill all playing from the left I think Solomon is the only competition to Kulu and even he is more a left winger. Some proper competition for Kulu and an option that lets him play as an 8 if needed would be no bad thing.

If Forest are skint then maybe a deal can be done.

If they are in real trouble I’d much rather we push for Gibbs White.
