Legitimately didn't think even this would get done today last night.

He's from West Wales and is bilingual
Neath is technically in South West Wales and historically in Southern Wales.
He is bilingual and spoke Welsh during a press conference during the Qatar World Cup.
He’s on record as saying that the Welsh language is very important to him.

The fact we don’t have huge riots and protests at every game shows he’s getting away with it.
He'd be getting away with it if there were those things and he was clinging on. That there aren't those things only shows that it's clearly not as bad as it would need to be for those things to happen.

And that’s because he plays a blinder with things like holding off the Johnson announcement until the last minute so the average fan goes home happy that we got the deal done, forgetting that the reality was we also desperately needed another centre back…

No need to explain this to a Welshman ...

The average fan of Tottenham Hotspur isn't in some way beneath or more stupid than those discussing this stuff online ad infinitum. Nor do I think they're mugged off by things like this. The actual reality is that it's just not all as bad as it's all hyped up to be on here and Twitter all of the time.

So we have to play Dav or Eric Dier at some point. Two experienced internationals. It's not going to be the end of our season, or the end of our competitiveness, or the end of the world. It's football. It's a game. That anyone thinks there should or would be rioting in Tottenham because we have to play Eric Dier...that's the wrong take.
