Gone ahead of Rose now. He doesn't give away stupid fouls away unlike Rose.

I had doubts last season but he appears a much fitter and confident player this time around.

I actually believe Davies struggled last year due to homesickness

But then when his sister and fiancé both moved up to London later on he seems to have calmed down and settled.

Welsh people are known for it he's probably lived less than 2 mins away from his entire social network for most of his life.
To then being in London on his big shock still young to don't forget.

He's pretty far ahead of Rose now imo.

I agree with Cravenspurs that Rose is more aggressive, but that's not always what you want out of a defender. I also think that Davies is ahead of Rose now, but it's fantastic that we have two LBs who are good enough to start for us in any competition.

The only problem with that is that Trippier is such a poor defender - he ends up far to often marking space he doesn't get nowhere near tight enough so far he has been very very average where as Walker has been having a fine season despite making a couple of silly errors yesterday as he seemed to get caught up in us trying to force the pace

improving all the time. excellent passer, more composed than rose in forward areas! not as athletic or tenacious but is a bit ahead now I feel! happy for him, good for Rose too will only drive him on

He was a cart horse when he started and not much else. Never crossed the half way line. Now he is more agressive, attacks well, gets in crosses and covers his flank as required. Looks a little pacier as well. All down to Poch I think plus the lads determination to succeed. Well done for him.

I know what you mean mate. I left Brecon 35 years ago and am still homesick.

I didnt want us to buy him as i thought his lack of pace would hinder him in Poch's structure where the FB's overlap and provide width. But I must say I am impressed by him. He compensates for that with his defending, crossing and coolness under pressure.

Rose tough, tenacious, quick, aggressive and a piece of blunt wood for a foot. He can't kick the ball for toffee.

That's not really true though is it? His technique is fine, good even, it's his decision making in the final third that's suspect. I for one am just over the moon that we have 2 players in both fullback positions that offer very different attributes.

Don't get me wrong we are lucky to have them but Rose's final ball needs improvement whereas Davies can knock the ball about.

rose is a great attacking outlet until he has to actually kick the ball. hes worse than aaron lennon.
