It must have been another team then. I’m sure he was photoed in another teams strip.

I think we signed him but city tried to stop the transfer at the last second, but everything had been signed.
I'm not sure if they wanted to keep him, or sell him to someone else.

Absolutely, his English is better than many on here (no names mentioned @Hercules...?)

Love you Herc. ?
You would hope so considering English is the official language of Nigeria (though worth noting that Nigeria has many languages and English is not always Nigerians first language it is the official language of the country. 86% of Nigerians speak it, for 20% it's their first language), it's likely he has been speaking English throughout his life and it's not inconceivable that he would consider English his mother tongue.

Even if not the case, being raised in the Netherlands practically guarantees a high level of English.

Seeing a lot of talk about this being an out of the blue panic buy with little planning.

While it might be true that he fell into our laps somewhat and it was an opportunistic buy rather than an primary target, I think it’s worth remembering that for the last three or four windows, we’ve been trying to buy a fast tricky/physical wing/forward. Traore, Diaz, Raphinia, etc. it’s clearly a type of player that Paratici at least has consistently been targeting. Someone who can cause defenders problems and take on their man at pace.

He definitely adds something we don’t really have.

I think we all shift around on this issue depending on how we're doing and whether people are temporarily in support mode or bash mode.

Pochettino was lambasted by people, including ITKs, for eventually insisting on getting primary targets when recruiting. That narrative is taken as read now, no matter whether it is true, partially true, or false. Many of the same people now defend Conte to the hilt, and lambast Levy, for taking the same stance Pochettino is supposed to have taken. It's fine to change your mind, but the vociferousness of these opinions is striking at times.

In this case, it seems like a weird opportunistic signing - medical and media done at Everton - and if the guy spends 5 months on the bench it's been a waste of time. We could've had Taraore anytime I reckon, but I'm glad we balked if he's not going to be a RWB. We bid for Diaz and got gazumped. We weren't in a position to compete much for Raphinia once he was leaving Leeds. Is Danjuma of this ilk? He might be a success or not, we'll have to see. Under Conte, we have a defined 343 approach. I don't particularly like it, but the only question on a new player is: Does this guy fit that approach?

This is brought into starker relief by our neighbours doing so well, with key players like Odegaard and Partey playing key roles alongside homegrown talent, plus specifically getting Zinchenko and Jesus for specific roles. Liverpool did it to win titles.

What are we doing? Are we 2 players away, or most of a team away. What does Danjuma tell us about that?

I recall when we were linked to Richy in the summer some Everton fans were calling it a sideways move.

Everton pls, we are massive

Loves a back heel flick!

Rapid, skilful, played in the pl, CL experience, goalscorer, loan with option.

Can't see a downside here, could be a very shrewd signing this one.

And as an added bonus if he does well and we decide to sign him we might be able to include lo celso in any deal.

Good luck to him. He likes a flicked back heel, eh?

I used to really enjoy watching Freddie Kanoute at Spurs. He's got some similarities without being such a target man. Hopefully Danjuma hits the ground running with us and gets plenty of minutes while also drawing the best out of Sonny and other attackers.

The way he spoke in the interview was all peace and nice, but when he's playing he took no nonsense. Totally very much like Romero, Bentancur and Richy. Hope he will come good and it's kinda comforting to know these guys are playing for us who show passion and confidence.

One for fans of a certain vintage - to the Danger Mouse theme:
https://youtu.be/uMXYJwjL51w

“He’s the greatest, he’s fantastic
“Whenever we’re attacking he’ll be there
“He’s the ace, he’s amazing
“He’s the strongest, he’s the quickest, he’s the best
“Dan-ju-ma
“Dan-ju-ma
“Dan-ju-ma!”
Has made me smile this morning .
