I would be amazed if Pele has even seen a single premier game this season let alone watched us, let alone watched Harry.

Nice headline though and great exposure for whatever he was peddling.
True, but I heard he goes to at least 100 games in the Vauxall conference

Slightly off-track, Pele thinks really highly of himself doesnt he? Watching his past interviews he always says he is the best player ever. I think if not for maradona's crazy ways no one would argue he was much better than pele. And also which is why, with messi's lack of controversies, i would rate him as the greatest player of all time. True he hasnt won a world cup but i wont judge him based on not winning the world cup.

Can we get Pele to praise Adebayor, Kaboul, Walker, Dembele, Soldado, Capoue, Lennon, Chiriches and Paulinho, raise their profile and get bids coming in so they can get the fuck out.

I remember when Pele said Nicky Butt was the greatest midfielder England had.

Which at the moment, he is warranting fully.

No he hasn't, as he has done fuck all, it is his first season. He done nothing, not a thing, ditto, diddly squat, the square root of fuck all. Yes he has had a fantastic start to his career, but that is it... seriously...

And it is not just in football, but in most sports in the UK. Olympics, some people won a few gold medals, brilliant, but the next thing you know, they are next best thing to sliced bread and everyone is making them out to be a fucking god, when they have only won, one fucking medal...

Their careers have barely started, yes say well done when they have done good, but the rest...?

It's pathetic.

Like I said, I am happy for the lad, I put my faith in him and I still believe he has got more to come, still needs to learn (could do with being a little less greedy), but he is on his way to being something special.

This is what the job of the media is. It's a shame for you, that you have to suffer as such in a country rife with it.

No I don't.

Where have I said I hate Kane? So instantly I have proved you are talking crap.

Secondly, I want him to develop to the player I can believe he can be, and IMO, I believe that is best achieved without a media shit storm.

Now please, tell me exactly where the hate is, showing my concern about the media coverage that has done far more damage than good to so many other young players over the years.

Fuck sake :shifty:

I think plenty people would argue that.

I for one would argue in favour of Pele. Maradona was nowhere near the greatest ever. In 1972, that was towards the tail end of his remarkable career, shortly before the money spinning sojourn in New York, he and Santos visited HongKong for a friendly against Newcastle in May. The match was played in heavy rain and the pitch was flooded to ankle depth. Pele scored a wonder goal and started just in Newcastle's half when he flicked the ball 14 or 15 times in the air and went past the entire Newcastle midfield and defence before smashing the ball into the net. In that 20-25 minute spell, he seemed to be in a trance or was possessed, and nobody could stop him fair or foul.

Pele never played for Spurs though.

From the footage I've seen, it's clear that Pele was an incredible player. I just think that Maradona was more magical...the sort of magic that few players come close to. Zidane comes close, and Messi has probably improved upon it.

I remember a story retold by Lineker. When he was at Barca he watched Maradona walk out onto the pitch and repeatedly kick the ball as hard as he could, straight up in the air. Without moving, the ball would drop straight back to him, and he'd boot it up in the air again. Apparently all of the other Barca players were trying (and failing) to repeat this trick in training. Then again, chemicals can certainly help focus one's perception!

Anyway, back on topic - it always feels me with pride when a legend talks of a Spurs player. I remember Maradona talking about Lennon a few years ago, and now Pele is commenting on Kane.
