Possibly a defensive minded midfielder to give Dier a breather now and then. But I'd be perfectly fine just getting a striker in--the only real necessity I think.

No. A backup for Kane is all that's needed. Let Poch continue to build on this squad.

I think the OP is right. We find ourselves in title chasing contention. Not 7-8th looking at 4th but with an actual shot at the title.
Could 1-2 quality signings help our pursue? Most certainly yes. Particularly if we replace the likes of Townsend and Fazio who are deadweight (sorry guys I like you personally).
This might be our best shot in years. We shouldn't break the bank for anybody but if the right players are there then we should go for it.

Can't disagree with the thought that a couple of new signings could, if they come off, take pressure off the squad and make ths difference. What I do believe is that Poch needs supporting if he identifies needs and we don't go all out for it. That is a scenario in which he becomes more vulnerable to listen to other offers ... should they come his way

I'd like us to get a forward who can not only compete with Kane but also play wide in same team as Kane.
We've been linked to Sandro Ramírez of Barcelona who could be a good option.
The defensive midfield spot concerns me a little as well as not really tried many others there aside from Dier; Bentaleb has the potential but has tended to prefer a defensive player alongside him and Winks, who I'd like to see given more chances, is untested in the position at present.
