And three years later on this day, Levy backed Poch.

Sorry, ‘sacked’, not ‘backed’. Silly Dougal.

Where the fuck is VAR when you want it ?
.

I've literally never noticed this before, but at the very end of the clip when Mendes is complaining to the ref and the linesman who didn't raise his flag, it looks like the linesman says - twice - to Mendes "I'm sorry": as if the linesman had seen a replay and realised he fucked up.

OTD.

Tottenham became the first team to do the first 20th century double beating Leicester 2-0 in the Cup Final at Wembley.

This would come as a complete surprise to Leicester fans some 55 years later when they said "Spurs never win anything"

This reminds me that some Chelsea fans were singing 'European Champions, you'll never be that...' when they played Villa the other day. :)

And next Monday, 10th January, it'll be 52 years since the great man scored his final goal for Spurs and I remember it well. we played Derby at home and Jimmy Pearce crossed the ball over from the right and Jimmy headed it past the hapless goalie into the far corner of the net in front of a huge crowd of adoring fans at the Park Lane end. Yes folks, that's right... he headed it! :)

God rest him.
