Am i the nly one who thinks their hair looks cool?!?!?

At the time they seemed well cool. Now they couldn't be much further from cool. That was a shocking look and i'm afraid to say i went through a bit of a 'casual' stage  Though I never got as far as growing the mullet. If ever there has been a worse haircut style I've yet to see it. And as much as i love Waddle whenever i think mullet, i think Waddle.

I fucking love this song.

Slow bit is what makes it good.

i fucking love the song aswell. its great when everyone sings it as loud as possible at WHL.

love every bit of it, the slow and fast bit..

there is always some people who clap too early and others do it the right way and carry on slowly doing it without the clapping.

In the big games at half time, loads of people sing it by the beers and pie bit. Always three slow ones and it's roaring in there!

Loads of teams sing versions of When The Saints Go Marching In. Ours is the best. The way the yids do it, it sounds like a proper anthem and it makes my hair stand on end!

My favourite was when we were singing it in the build up to Bender's own goal in the CC semi. I think the ParK Lane actually sucked the ball into the net.

Three Lions is the best song in world football.

I'd say World In Motion runs it close.

I love the slow part of WTSGMI. I love stretching out my arms and wiggling my fingers. Especially at the away games when everyone joins in.

No idea when we first started singing it. It wasn't until I saw the 1981 FA Cup replay on TV that I realised the Spurs fans were singing "You'll Never Walk Alone" which was curious.

There must be a web site with all this stuff on somewhere.

I must admit that whilst being at WHL on Sunday and hearing Oh when the Spurs goes marching in being sung in unison, whilst drowning out West Ham's anthem, it really did bring a tear to my eye (don't take this piss, as I is well 'ard:wink:)

Seriously though, why have we started singing this great song again? I remember posting on GG that we never had an anthem to sing like Birmingham City's, or even West Ham. Then coincidently, I noticed the fans' started singing the song. I must admit that I cannot remember the song being sung when I had my season ticket in the late 80's and early 90's, and also the handful of games I used to go to each season through the Sugar years. I always associated the song with Southampton, and it seems that since they were relegated, we have adopted the song as our anthem.

So, whose song was it first? Ours or Southampton's?

Do I take it that you have no knowledge of The Battle Hymn of the Republic?? (Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!) :eek:mg:

I love this song!! My earliest memory of it was at Selhust Park back in 98 when we beat Wimbledon 6-2 and Klinsmann got 4, I remember it because I'd never seen the thing with the fingers before.

I like it in the slow bit when a few people shout 'number' after the 'in that number' line

hoddle will cringe if he saw that now

Not half as much as I did.

Can I come out from behind the sofa, now?

And When The Spurs Go marching In has been our song all my born days and long before.

From the 50's at least.

By the way, if anyone doesn't know, and there are A LOT, it's 3 slow verses before it gets fast.

THREE SLOW VERSES.

3.

THREE.

:clap::clap::clap:

Also can we hold the opening "Oooooooooooh..." for a bit longer (pref. until every single hair on the back of your neck is standing on end). People seem to be too eager to get to "when..."!

The best times I've heard it sung are when the first note goes on so long every one of our boys is on board and you're just bursting to start the song but you hold it just a little bit longer for maximum effect!

I too love the slow bit it builds up the energy for the fast bit.

I like the slow bit as it sounds earie and awsomely intimidating when the whole lane sings it!

My fave chant for a long time!!

(apart from sticking bubbles somewhere when we play the spanners!!)
