One thing this year is teaching me is to grab every opportunity to celebrate every success, no matter how petty or near-sighted. Why would i deny myself a smile? This isn't a zero-sum situation.

Let's just hope they don't win the FA Cup If we finish 7th...or 6th for that matter!

For us to lose that Europa league spot, it will take:-

1. Chelscum to lose to Wolves, which they shouldn't, considering they need to fight tooth and nail to get that CL spot
2. Spurs to lose to Palace, which we shouldn't, considering Palace are in an awful place right now, having lost their 7 last games in a row
3. Arse to win the FA Cup, which they shouldn't, considering their awful season

You know what that means, dont you? Even when we least expect it to happen, or when the odds are so small, it can still happen if the receiving end is Spurs.

I fear another 2012.

I would have agreed with you however having Jose at the helm will be the difference where we go out with a win!

‘yes but Liverpool are on the beach so Chelsea could well beat them giving them no need to beat Wolves.

This pleases me greatly. I'm starting to lose count of the number of years we've finished above them which, for me is all about 22 years of putting up with their fans mouthing off at us for no good reason other than we occupy the same area of the country...

However, they will win the "Emirates FA Cup" purely because their sponsor, Emirates, will drag them over hot coals if they don't . 13 times they've won it - Wenger suddenly looking not so special...

Their fans will then wheel out some shit about North London being red once more, and the old "FOREVER IN OUR SHADOW" graphic. Rinse and repeat.

Considering we were 8 points behind them when JM took the reigns, it is great to finish above them once more.

If you dedicate your life to supporting a bunch of bogwashers who win fuck all year after year and after spending my whole life watching them win stuff and finish above us you can be damn sure I’m going to enjoy finishing above them. That and just general schadenfreude is all I have.

Tbh I couldn't give a fuck if we finished above them or not. I'd rather be looking forward to a cup final like they are but our "winner" saw to that by getting us knocked out to the worst team in the PL reserves at home.

As Shanks said "If you are first you are first. If you are second you are nothing", we're 6th at best...

Imagine if we had gotten knocked out of the soda pop cup by second division Colchester United ... Oh wait.

Well obviously everyone would rather win something but, you know, we’re historically not very good at that so you take what you can get.

Imagine you were at a team that were on their knees (so to speak ). and half the squad had their head in turmoil after losing the biggest game of their career imagine having a so called top midfielder who wanted out ( Eriksen ) and in his mind was playing for Madrid .
Imagine having two England full backs Trippier and Rose who could not give a toss and wanted out .
Imagine a large part of the remaining squad were injured .
This imagining game is good is it not .
