A short WhatsApp exchange between me and an Arsenal supporting mate.

I'm asking you what you think about so many players desperately want to leave a club of our stature despite apparently having been offered very lucrative deals.
I would have thought that if they wanted out specifically because of Poch then they wouldn't be running down their contracts. They'd just leave if virtually any reasonable move was available. Running down your contract is almost always about getting the biggest possible contract at your next club

That's why the comments are contradictory...

What has anyone seen since Mourinho left Inter in 2010 to suggest he’s the right man?

Im not 100% mourinho in but Probably the 15* trophies he’s won since then

I’m not going to guess who the next mgr will be until I see reports on who the players next invite for a group dinner.

Haven't there been reports of them doing just that, angling for moves but haven't gotten them for one reason or another?

He won an EPL with Chelsea. That was impressive. But also fell out with everyone at a club where he’s a legend and behaved terribly towards that doctor.

He got very average results at United given the hundreds of millions he spent. And his trophy haul at real fucking Madrid was mediocre.

He wins a bit but with lavish sums he’ll never get here and I don’t want his bad vibes anywhere near my club.

@Shadydan too.
Show me more money spent to win Europa league ffs

I'd take 2 years of progression and success over another year of regression and no success.

He spent hundreds of millions to get success buying absolute garbage on huge wages. To win a cup we’re not in and the league fucking cup?

Come on, be serious...
I’d take any trophy atm, even the league cup, got to start a winning mentality somehow

You mean at the same United who spent millions but apparently on quite a few players he didn't want in the first place? That's been struggling since he left as the players who were bought were mainly average? He still won things with them despite having a worse team than us.
Same with Real where they actually didn't spend that much during his time there from what I recall.

I think that the reputation about him needing a massive budget are overstated. I'm not a fan but I doubt there's a better replacement available and I also have zero doubt that he'd have us performing a lot better than we're doing now.

We need a proven winner.

If Poch leaves and we hire Farke, Rodgers, Howe etc... then you can bet that Kane, Son and co will follow him shortly after.

It’s funny how some (rightly) complain Mourinho is a chequebook manager but then simultaneously want us to throw the chequebook at Poch. It’s simply required these days

A refreshed Mourinho could really galvanise this squad imo.

Would love watching us in the big games under him.
