My lad’s U14 coach could do a better job right now, while he’s on a cricket tour in Corfu!!

For what it’s worth, he coaches in the academy of a PL club

Problem is his transfers have been either decent or complete howlers

Sounds like he's a perfect fit for Spurs and will continue the tradition dating back to Helder Postiga of bringing in the howler we desperately want to succeed but doesn't.

So many votes for Mourinho, seriously?

It feels like the last Tory leadership contest in here.

This is exactly it. It’s like brexit. People have just had enough to the point they are willing to go with mourinho/brexit. I never thought brexit would win. I never thought I’d see a day spurs fans would want mourinho.

I think our troubles go deeper than Poch with key players having an eye on one last big contract away from the club. Saying that, today’s performance was indefensible for many reasons not least the lack of fight and intensity which does sit with Poch.

If the worst case happened and we did say enough is enough then I think we need to look more long term than Jose.

Key things for me:
  • We need somebody with a decent standing in the game who can recruit well as our spine needs replacing
    • Toby leaving
    • Jan leaving
    • Eriksen leaving
    • Lloris big injury late in career will raise questions over his future
  • Style of play - I don’t want us to start playing defensive low risk football in the hope that we’ll grind out a win.

Managerial options:
  • Poch - Keep faith and let him build a new spine, knows the club and Levy
  • Jose - Depressingly boring style, will alienate players and play the media against Levy
  • Rafa - Thnk we could tempt him back to prem, style is more defensive than I’d like but he would know how to reshape our defence and fans love him wherever he goes.
  • Ten Hag - Developed an exciting attacking style at Ajax which worked not only in the Dutch league but also against the top teams across Europe. Perhaps the most impressive thing so far is that they’ve maintained this style even after losing the core of their team from last year.
  • Allegri - Again quite defensive but proven winner will be looking to make big statement after leaving Juve could attract Dybala and build around key signings.
  • Bielsa - Circus would roll in and would have very few dull moments, bring back the high press and intensity levels
  • Low - Been in international football for a long time so unsure how he’d cope but positive style
  • Rodgers - Don’t like the guy but can’t fault his record and does bring a sense of fun into the game. Impressive at Leicester so would be surprised if he left them
  • Klinsman - Out of the game for too long and players seem to fall out with him
  • Howe - Think timing is wrong for Eddie Howe and getting him in when we need to start attracting top players would see us slip out of top 4 contention.

Who else is out there who we should be

I mean Boris Johnson went from dropping out of one leadership contest to getting so many votes in the next one that he could afford to lend some to other candidates who'd go on to defeat his rivals in early rounds.

I'll happily commit to the Mourinho/Boris allegory a lot longer.

Why? A reasonable comparison in my opinion. If all was well and poch left us at our peak would anyone want mourinho? No

Same with brexit, if the country wasn’t in a shit state nobody would have voted brexit.

But then in the cold light of day once we crash out of Europe or are sat watching some turgid football everyone will realise what a terrible ducking decision it was

I know mourinho is a winner and proven but I don't want him near my club, the man is scum and a nasty piece of work. Plus him and levy would never get on.

It's not that he isn't nice that's the problem. I'm sure he's lovely. Interviews away from the football spotlight show his other side and that side is pleasant enough.

It's his football side that I dislike.
