and i know its skin deep but i wish we wern't going to have a manager who looks like he gets into fights in carvery car parks on sundays
What happens when for whatever reason you can't appoint the first choice? Just...appoint nobody?Levy needs to get the fans onside and constantly moving to new managerial targets is a sure fire way to do the opposite. It gives the impression of no clear plan and direction. If we identified Ange as our target straight away and never wavered from that, I’d be far more convinced by it.
Either way, we need to commit to this now if we’ve identified him and make sure we get it over the line. We can’t afford to fuck about yet again.
Absolutely and it's something that's not being taken on board here imo.Had to wait till right near the end, but it seems the answer is that he likes his teams to press when not in possession. That will be a big change for our players who haven't done that since poch left.

Guessing I'd say that 80% here are bang into attacking pressing football...and maybe similar percent would gag at the thought of Kane/Son leaving.
It's a car crash that you can see coming, but imo few here seem aware of the dichotomy.
The Aussie has a job on his hands alright.
We didn't pay up for him. I guess this will be spun by some that Slot turned us down. If we paid the money and showed we really wanted him he would be here. Ange I believe is on a rolling contract so that won't be an issue.

Ange P doesn't travel with a set coaching staff, he's publicly stated he prefers to work with existing coaches at new clubs. He adds to the staff, Harry Kewell last summer, as required.Yeah fingers crossed.
I just looked it up and apparently Celtic even blocked him from bringing his own team with him and forced him to use the existing backroom staff (initially at least).
I think that bodes well for us as this is the type of bollocks Levy will try and pull and it didn't frighten him off. Not only that but he managed to make a success of it there without any of his trusted allies to back him up.
Ah interesting. The article I read said he was pressured to not bring anyone with him but maybe it was chatting bollocks.Ange P doesn't travel with a set coaching staff, he's publicly stated he prefers to work with existing coaches at new clubs. He adds to the staff, Harry Kewell last summer, as required.
If he is appointed, there is a big possibility that Mason will be assistant & Wells will be part of his coaching team.
Ange Postecoglou provides fascinating insight into reasoning behind Celtic staff decisions
Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has once again opened up on the reason he chose to inherit his backroom staff at Parkhead.www.67hailhail.com
Sorry, still thinking on this.... I bet he gets every possible extra when he goes to Toby. Probably an extra jug of gravy too.and i know its skin deep but i wish we wern't going to have a manager who looks like he gets into fights in carvery car parks on sundays
I know flick all about Ange..BUT I'm a fan of aussies in general..Night out with aussies you're gonna have a laugh..they like winning things too and have done so in athletics/rugby etc out of all proportion to their population.I’m all in on Ange.
Thirdly because he’s Australian and my wife is Australian and earlier today she got actually a bit excited about something Spurs related when I told her we might be appointment an Aussie manager and so I’m hoping for less tutting and eye rolling when I turn the footy on in the evening.
Ah. But imagine if it worked...imagine going into Harry Kanes last season at spurs and giving a guy who has never managed top level talent before the managers job.
Way to go, COYS Daniel
Imagine we hadn’t wasted the previous four of his peak years playing bullshit, cowardly counter-attacking football?imagine going into Harry Kanes last season at spurs and giving a guy who has never managed top level talent before the managers job.
Way to go, COYS Daniel
So he he is a dual national who identifies as an Aussie.Postecoglou is actually Greek, not Australian. He was raised in Oz, where his Greek parents migrated after the military coup of 1967. Eventually he got the Australian passport.
To be fair we tried the big serial winner mangers route in Conte and Jose and look how that turned out.imagine going into Harry Kanes last season at spurs and giving a guy who has never managed top level talent before the managers job.
Way to go, COYS Daniel
Interestingly, did you know big Ange was Brighton’s 1st choice to take over from Potter.
That’s interesting.
yes but Brighton have an infrastructure where players are like a conveyor belt and are really well run from top to bottom , Spurs we don't have that infrastructure.Interestingly, did you know big Ange was Brighton’s 1st choice to take over from Potter.
That’s interesting.
Amended.and i know its skin deep but i wish we wern't going to have a manager who looks like he wins fights in carvery car parks on sundays
In other words he didn't turn us down we just wasn't prepared to pay for him so he stayed and signed a new contractWe didn't pay up for him so he immediately signed a new contract with Feyenoord and committed to them?
Absolutely zero chance it was serious we would have to pay 25m for him and zero chance we would have had a problem with paying 6 or 7m for the right manager.
