Would be very excited if we get Slot in. Have watched Feyenoord a few times this season, and they have very clear ideas and attack well. And he seems to really want the job - another nice change from recent history. He gives BMJ vibes and I’m into it.

I get he could do little bits while not officially starting but doing the whole process of appointing a manager for us while not even employed by the club yet seems a bit off.
Gardening Leave until 1st July might only prevent him from taking "paid" or "full-time" work. Self-employed or consultancy work could very well be possible, and given his trips away with DL it likely is what he's doing.

He's clearly involved in the process to at least some extent though, wouldn't have been pictured with Levy in the airport otherwise. Given the importance of the manager and DOF appointments I can't imagine that he'd want them to be made without his input on the eve of his joining the club.

I'm sure this sort of thing (executives working behind the scenes while on gardening leave from their prior employer) happens all the time so long as the parties involved are aware and consent to it.

If this happens it will give the whole club a lift.

Come on Levy, get Skipp on that leadership committee, please don't fuck this up.

Who are better options?

Nagelsmann
Gallardo
Enrique
Potter
Poch until he went to Chelsea. ( Though I didn't want him back
De Zerbi
Spalletti

You could also include in that list but don't have that much experience.

Alonso
Kompany
Carrick
So you've just listed everyone who's been remotely linked, apart from Slot?
What do you have against poor Arne?

I mean it's all down to opinion but I personally don't find many on your list to be a better fit than Slot.

I think if we really want him, and are convinced he’s the best choice, we will get him. Slot seems interested, we need a progressive, younger coach to head up a new cycle. What could possibly go wrong?!

The Skipp thing has irritated me.

Surely these things should be decided by a new manager? It's bad enough the new guy has to have Dier and Holjberg there in this group, two players who it's highly debatable are good enough and yeah I think Skipp has loads of potential but what if the new guy doesn't like him?

Seems totally backwards to me.?

Tbf the leadership part happens in most clubs all over the world, it’s just that skipp shouldn’t even be starting, let alone act as a leader in the squad for me
