I get that alot of people are underwhelmed by Ange, I am too to a degree, but some of the posts on here are straight up embarrassing. He's not even been appointed yet, nor managed a single Tottenham match and he's still being thrown under the bus for things he hasn't done. People saying they won't support him until he wins X amount of games etc. How fucking entitled are you?

Early doors we were linked with Tuchel then Nagelsmann. Apart from a league cup in 2008 and reaching a champions league final, what position are we in to demand the worlds best managers other than revenue and the stadium? I'm not saying we shouldn't but the sheer dismissiveness of "unworthy" managers like Ange or even Slot in the early links puts some of you lot in the same bracket as the "entitled" Liverpool/Man Utd/Arsenal fans we all like the take the piss out off in the last 10 years, and guess what, they've all won alot more than us recently..

If we get Ange, i'll back him to the high heavens and hope he gets a reaction from whatever squad he manages to build, i'm very Levy out, but until Levy is out, we still need to back whoever comes in, regardless of his name, CV or age, until they either prove us wrong or right.

Some of you lot need a slap upside the head.

Personally, I’m quite into this having watched a few of his videos and listened to him speak. He’s articulate, passionate, seems to get it. Strikes me as a sort of fusion of Harry Redknapp, Martin Jol and Poch. With the arm around the shoulder, the exciting football and the press… I often feel like it’s these slightly out of the norm appointments that become the most interesting. Who knows? Just got a feeling this could be a surprisingly good call.

With Mase as his assistant, i’d be really happy.

CAA Base runs this club now. Sad state of affairs!

So not Jorge Mendes anymore?
Why is it always rumoured there’s a nefarious agency/agent in the background secretly running things. Considering how much of a complete and utter control freak Levy is it just doesn’t make sense to me.

The more I read and see of him the more I like him and can see what he’s about.

Think he ‘could’ work for us as we don’t have a team of divas who think they’re above him.

Helps that we get him in before the tour as hopefully the first impression the players get of him will be an adoring Aussie media and fans all hyping him up.

I've just recovered from everyone moaning about Mendes and Mourinho. Real tin foil hat nonsense. Can't deal with this again.

I'm really excited by Ange. Someone's already said it but he's going to win us the league!

NB this might not actually happen.

Nepotism at the highest level, have there been any other cases in the Premier League?

Seems like something that could only happen at Tottenham

TBF Mendes runs Wolves... however at least they get to have quality mendes players.

We just get some bloke who hasnt done anything in top elite football.

2 year contract.... project coach, yeah ok then.

Ange can definitely handle the media/press. I Just believe he will be a breath of fresh air right through the whole Club. As supporters we deserve something to go right for the Club, let’s hope this is it.

Frank Lampard literally had two jobs in the Premier League this season.

IF he's the chosen one, he's not who I wanted or expected but you take it on the chin and support both the man and the process.

Levy simply cannot afford for this to fail. You'll get a few people making excuses if he does but the naked truth of the matter is that Humpty Dumpty simply cannot afford to have a great fall again. The natives are restless, pitchforks are out and if it goes tits, there won't be much sympathy for him because he's left the door wide open on that with the Slot/Nagelsmann thing. There are two or three natural candidates available and to not get one of them (supposedly because of differences in how he wants to operate), well, it'll be seen as a massive failure on his part if this doesn't come off.

So COYS, fingers crossed and let's see what happens. I suppose :D

On the positive side, this thread is only a couple of days or so away from oblivion. I am moist.
I agree with the sentiment but would there really be any repercussions if it did fail? Lewis doesn’t care as long as the deals keep getting made and Levy isn’t going to tell himself off In the mirror. Maybe Munn would get the chop. Obviously I’m hoping Ange is a big success if that is what is happening, which it certainly seems it is, but even if he’s gone by Christmas I don’t think anything happens to Levy. It will just be more #levyout for a few months until he gets a replacement and we go again.

Martin O'Neill previously spoke of having a 12 month rolling contract with Celtic, contract was set that he always had 12months remaining. Dermot Desmond wanted assurances O'Neill couldn't walk out on short notice & O'Neill was guaranteed at least a year's pay-off if sacked. Contract value renegotiated end of season.
Not sure where or who confirmed Ange P is free to walk this month??

Yeah that’s right it will be the same. We’ll have to pay up a year of his contract to get him unless there’s a set clause. Can’t imagine Celtic standing in his way but you never know. I’m not sure he’s one to hold somewhere he doesn’t want to be though

I’m confident this happens but not confident we’ll see white smoke from Hotspur Way in the next couple of days. Didn’t Ange say he’s going on holiday tomorrow(?) and most of the reports say we’ll make an approach this week - only one one or two reports have said it could be finalised in the next few days. I’m expecting this to drag on for another week or two and only be announced when Ange is back from his hols.
Nervous watch to see If we see Ange sunning himself on the Greek islands in his cockerel Speedo’s using the massive club shop discount voucher Levy has included in the contract

Because lots of people are absolutely revelling in the self pity and want to put the worst possible slant on everything. If it happens then they are proved to be Nostradamus, if not then they can say "well, I always wanted what was best for the club" or something?

So tedious now.

Well if you knew more about Base and who their employee's were you might understand it, although It's not for me to spell out. This is different to the Mendes situation, but it's not coincidence how many people rep'd by Base we have/ have had at the club. They are involved in most things we do now in one way or another.
