Kane as Player / Manager ticks a lot of boxes - not sure with the modern day demands in the Prem that a P/M is workable, but I'd be really interested to know Kane's response if it was put to him.
You’re bat-shit crazy mate. Tell me another instance when this has ever happened.

Chelsea did it twice in the 90s: Ruud Gullit & Gianluca Vialli (RIP).

Not that I think Kane should be given the job.

I’m personally hoping for Poch. And I’m happy to admit it’s 90% sentimental reasons over footballing reasons. But if it’s not him, I’d like an ‘outside of the box’ manager.
Gallardo sounds interesting. I would be willing to get behind cooper as well.
De Zerbi, I’d be worried he is a product of a well run club, rather than him being great. Tuchel, highly criticism for his brand of football at Chelsea, so is a no for me.

I'd love to be wrong as I think he's got the potential to be an outstanding coach, but I just can't see us appointing Gallardo.

Think he'll take a job in Spain tbh.
If no one better (e.g. us) and they don't get relegated, he will go to Leeds imo. Apparently it's why they only gave Garcia a contract until the end of the season.

Poch makes a lot of sense, knows the league, knows the clubs constraints, knows levy and doesn't (at least outwardly) seem to want to kill him, super successful for us last time, seems to have genuine affection for the club, plays exciting football.

All of which guarantees we won't pick him.

They'll probably conduct another 6 month manager search and appoint Gattuso.

Has anyone mentioned the language barrier with Gallardo? And has anyone mentioned that he played in the USA for a season?

Cause I reckon it might finally stick the thousandth time someone mentions this.

😬
It's no help to us if he only speaks Argentinian and American.

Feels like a lot of people just want something shiny and new because for all of the dissection I see of Pochs time here ( every single mistake in five a half years) I'm seeing a lot of clamouring for a guy I bet 99% of the forum has never seen one match he has managed in.

Now don't get me wrong I actually voted for him because who doesn't want something shiny and new right? But i see issues. Paratici is all but gone surely? So no way does he not need a DOF. Do we have one lined up? The only rumour I've seen is of the Benfica one.

That's on top of the language barrier, the fact he has never lived, played or managed in England, does he even follow the league? Can he manage superstars as opposed to up and comers or people right at the end of their career?

My priority would be a DOF and someone he can work with, as long as we go back to front foot, aggressive attacking football I'd be happy with the choice and give them a chance.

Another thing here. I don't believe Poch would refuse to work with a DOF as every big club has them. At Madrid he would have next to no say on transfers.

Not overly confident that paratici having a say in the next manager is a good idea considering his past choices and the uncertainty about his position in the club.

No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it is not the same river and he is not the same man.

Should we rename this thread to something more apt, like "Moving the Deckchairs on the Titanic Thread"
+1, this is an apt thread title.

Need folks to continue the Levy out protests. We need a change at the management level — perhaps Levy to focus on commercial and financial management, and have a new Director take over the Sporting side (with no approval needed from Levy). Wishful thinking.

Yes you’re right.

Difference being, Kane is still in his prime with eyes on finishing his career chasing a number of records.

Gullit & Vialli were both mid 30’s with their best years behind them.
