Do we know Neppe’s relationship with Nagelsmann?

I could be talking out of my ass but I think it was Kahn and Salihamidžić that were instrumental in his sacking
Happy to be corrected but it would appear that was the case - in particular Salihamidzic who seemingly fell out with Hansi Flick as well.

Yep. Salihamadzic eventually fell out with everyone at the club during his tenure. It was Neuer club captain who pushed the JN sacking after his best mate, the goalkeeping coach, was gone.

No idea how Neppe fitted in or relationship.

The key line of that is the last one. I think our one hope of he him is if he is let go when the new DoF is brought in. If he’s still involved it transfers it doesn’t bode well.
As it's getting clearer now in our managerial search honing in on AP I do now wonder if he'd (presumably) replicate that level of control/influence with a transfer committee of say himself, Steinsson and Munn negating the requirement right now for a DoF and instead a technical director like Neppe who would oversee the scouting network assuming and surpassing Gabbanini's role.

A structure/committee something resembling this?;
Chief Football Officer - Scott Munn
Technical Director - Marco Neppe
Performance Manager - Gretar Steinsson
Manager (not head coach!) - Ange Postecoglou

With Kahn and Salihamidzic gone, you’d think Neppe would now be key at Bayern and have more control. For Bayern levels, they are a bit of a mess and need to rebuild in order to win the biggest trophies. That seems like a job that would be exciting to most. Why would he leave that and come to Tottenham?

That’d be a good start, I think. Would love to see someone like a Lee Dykes from a data/analytics perspective in the mix. Not sure how much of that Steinsson implements, though

Wasn’t there some suggestion they’d go for Markus Krosche?

So, while we’re still sitting on out hands:

City: Signing Kovacic
Arse: Working on Rice for months
United: Circling Kane.
Newcastle: Signing Veiga, one of Real’s top targets.
Liverpool: Appointed DOF, Signing Mac Allister, Van der Ven.
Brighton: Signed Joao Pedro
Villa: Signing Asensio.
Isn't most of this just rumour and speculation so far?

Edit, I see that I was late to this party and @Nine while nine has already owned the response.

Links to Dykes and Steidten have seemingly died off so perhaps that was geared towards a structure in which Slot would be head coach and not someone who is deemed much more hands on in Postecoglou.

Yeah, that’s a good point. It’ll be interesting to see how it works out. Especially considering the gulf in requisite ability with regards to Talent ID for an EPL player for a (lol) Top 4 challenging side vs. an SPL player. If Ange is going to have a big say in who can work for him, that’s going to be a learning curve, for sure. Guess that’s why you have others in the room to help with an informed choice.

Maybe would make sense to get someone like Spors if we get Ange. Someone who works across different clubs who we can call upon without a full on dof.

Testing. 1 2. Am I banned from this one?

This is like when when my aunt Renee (sp?) sent me to bed early while it was still clearly daylight outside

I've done some extensive research guys, and it turns out that Arne's Slot's name is not actually slut, imagine my embarssessment.

But I think a dapper Levy could pull this off

I thought Spors was the one that turned us down because he didn't want to leave his role for what was basically going to be a recruitment role?

Hopefully Neppe is the one and will come in as a Head of Recruitment. I think getting someone a bit more junior, will work well with the set up. Plus, the 433 Bayern play, is similar to Postecoglu’s system, so he will already have identified a range of players that will fit us too.
