Does anyone else think it’s slightly odd it’s just the south stand ? As the last built surely the west should be more ready. Could it be possible that the wiring/fire issues don’t effect the South as it’s was effectively built separately. The press realease is slightly unclear if you can actually visit your seat in the west ? As it just mentions North and south.

Probably want to ensure they have as many fans are around the "Market Place" area to see how the facilities cope (restaurants, bars etc).

Because the ground is still a building site the club can't be expected to make the whole thing safe for fans to wonder around. South Stand makes the most sense if looking to accommodate 6,000 people for a couple of hours. The bars, food options, views etc..

Expect it's more that that's the highlight in terms of the internal facilities, bars, food outlets etc and they want to emphasise it. There'll only be 3k fans in at a time compared to 17k in the South Stand on matchday, so it won't really help them test how well it works with similar numbers.

It's just that the first event is capped at 6k legally. Can't remember the next two, but it steps up drastically after that. Why open the whole stadium for only 6k people? Some fool would get locked in a toilet somewhere and never be found.

I still don't think we ever had any intention of going there, I reckon Levy just wanted to make Haringey Council shit themselves at the thought of Tottenham without us and used it as a bargaining chip.

Getting £400m of land for free? Yes they wanted to win the bid. Enic could have sold off whl of built housing there and that would have gone a long way to paying for the stadium.

We were 100% going there if we won it. I am sorry, I sat in front of Daniel Levy, the single purpose of that meeting from Daniel and Donna's point of view was to convince us to shut up. He could have told me (and Darren Alexander) that it wasn't likely we'd move and it was just an option, we'd have backed off. He didn't. He told us in no uncertain terms it was the club's ONLY viable option and it was Stratford or no new stadium anywhere. We didn't believe him and events since can be interpreted however you might want, but I can promise you, we looked into the whites of his eyes and he was dead set on it.

gotta say I'm much happier staying in Tottenham regardless of how much business sense stratford may have made.

proud that we stuck to our guns and refused to have the London stadium "as is". over the new few years the added revenue we can generate from a spurs stadium should far outstrip the London stadium, especially when the debt is paid off.

if/when football takes its next leap via more money or via FFP coming in, I can see article about west ham noting the stadium is low cost, but ties their hands in terms of their ability to compete.

Great post - thanks for sharing

I thought originally there were only going to be two test events?

It looks amazing already and it's not even lit up yet. On match days with it all lit up it will look even better. Just seeing that Welcome sign inside makes it stand out even more already. It's a very digital stadium so there will be a number of visual effects when it's open. I wouldn't be surprised if the stadium sponsor is a technology company (I know there have been rumours of it being HP).

the only trouble is the electricity bill will be so high we won't be able to make any new player signings:whistle:

But larger than the 3k/6k for this test.

One was going to be a legends game against a German team I think.
Think the other was a youth game. Not sure if this would get more than 3k...

People want to see the new stadium. Think we'll get a fair crowd.

But we intended flattening the London Stadium and effectively build our new stadium there. We intended getting round the athletics problem by building A 25k stadium down at Crystal Palace.

aware, meant more it's a positive we stuck to that line, rather than going for the simplier (London preferred option) of using the London stadium as is.

Man Utd will take some doing. Only 6 weeks till that date. 2 test events to fit in presumably after new year. When will they have to confirm location for Man U game?

electricians that were hired to install the fire systems are complaining that they haven't been paid yet.....

I heard Kramer on the spurs show pod cast the other day, he sounds like a right plonker, according to him the council won't give us a safety certificate and it's still not even close to being ready. I hope the boys on the spurs show bring him back to absolutely slaughter him. If it all goes to plan, obviously
