Was at the NFL game yesterday and it was the best experience I have had at the stadium to date. Cracking game and the atmosphere was electric. Props to the Chicago Bears fans who are great supporters.

I do have wider concerns about the outgoing traffic post-game though. Its not so much of an issue for me as walking the backstreets to Tottenham Hale you avoid most if not all traffic. Not everyone is aware of that though - this was particularly apparent for the NFL game. I tried the High Road up to Seven Sisters for the NFL and it was a bit of a nightmare - a Wembley Way sort of situation but without the wide path to really deal with it. The Bayern game I experimented with WHL Overground and was very surprised at the infrequency of trains to Seven Sisters.

It very much was in line with some of my fears for the stadium pre-build - that the surrounding area and transport links are very ill-equipped to deal with a 62k stadium. Hoping there are plans in the future to deal with this but then again perhaps my concerns arent shared by anyone else.

It’s the stadium sponsorship that is the prize. You might end up with Nike or some else adding a few extra hundred million because of the NFL on top of the football, particularly if the 2 games per season become 5 or more.

Stadium sponsorship has already been sorted....

Spurs and others did ask for a Victoria Line extension to Northumberland Park which would have increased the transport options but it has all been turned down by TFL and Mayor https://www.london.gov.uk/questions/2011/1413

So looks like the existing links will have to cope, be interesting to know how Twickenham copes with 80000 crowds , nearest tube is Richmond which is 2 miles away and nearest overground station half a mile away.

Apparently broke the record for most beer sales at a european sports event EVER. I guess the fact it goes on for about 4 hours and you can drink in your seat makes it plausible.

Any idea what non spurs fans thought of it all?
I’ve seen nothing but praise on twitter, the coach and QB for the raiders (one of the teams who played ) said that it’s probably the best stadium they’ve ever played in and the facilities were second to none

Only been to one game at Twickenham and the train queues seemed never ending for journey back. Also the most packed train on the way there, l didn't have enough room to move my arm to remove my hat that was needed outside but not inside when it filled up.

Concerts will be a real winner for us. Almost three months to fit in what we are allowed. I believe there is a limit on how many extra events we can hold.

16 I believe. So we have 14 potential slots for concerts, Esports, whatever else they can conjure up outside of football/NFL.

I think we will hear very soon about the first concerts. The NFL was a great advert and the half time show. They normally book up about 6 months before. Almost certain will be a big fight next summer as well probably AJ.

Twickenham is a fucking nightmare post match. Always has been. Easily worse than at our place.

FWIW I spoke to an NFL fan yesterday who said it’s the best stadium he’s ever been to by far, including the Nou Camp.

We should really get a trophy for that imho.

The Nou Camp is way down in the list of great stadiums. Yes it has history but it is ageing badly and is quite a dump.
