Defending-Yes.
Creating chances- No- We were one of the top teams in terms of scoring goals from corners, I believe. I fucking hate these short corners we do all the time though.

There rarely seems to be a plan. Year after year we seem unorganized on just about every corner.

I think most teams are shit at corners these days, which is another way of saying that most teams are very well drilled in how to defend corners.

We've probably not done that badly compared to others when it comes to scoring from corners over the last few seasons. I suspect one of the most used phrases on this site over the last couple of seasons has been "wow, did we just score from a corner?!!"

One thing I noticed when looking at some YouTube's of Trippier was that he takes a decent corner so fingers crossed.

I agree with the sentiment. Personally though, I set my hopes a bit higher.
My one hope for the entire season is that we will play in Basel in EL.

Yes there are teams that seem to 'specialise' in them such as stoke, and are more threatening, but even then goals from corners are low. Dont really understand the excitement that winning a corner brings tbh.

Would agree that to be better at defending them is a need, alongside better defending in general. Concentration and communication are huge weaknesses at corners and in open play.

I noticed during the AC Milan game when Trippier was playing we changed our corner routine, playing it short initially and then out to Trippier to cross into the box. Must have done this atleast 3 times, Trippier got the assist for the Carrol goal this way.

Interesting that they've obviously highlighted his crossing ability from that particular area of the pitch, rather than him taking the corners himself.

Maybe just a coincidence..
